Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie “Winds And Clouds Ball Game Tournament” is the second episode of the Shikimori anime. Following the introductions in episode 1. This episode has all of our favourite characters playing ball games for PE. Izumi and Inuzuka are on the same soccer team but Izumi is injured. Leading to a very distressed and distracted Shiki. The girls almost lose the volleyball game until Shiki is cheered on by Izumi and gets her mojo back.
Shiki Is Amazing
With everything that goes on in this episode it’s some of the smaller more throw away things I loved the most. Shiki’s inability to accept Inuzuka protecting Izumi cause that’s her job was genuinely hilarious and very in character. She’s very protective but because she doesn’t think she’s cute enough but the very same misunderstanding plagues Izumi as he thinks he’s not good enough for Shiki considering how cool she is and how popular she becomes after showing her athleticism in volleyball.
If the minor characters weren’t there it wouldn’t be nearly as entertaining but it’s because they are that it’s so funny. Both parties just don’t understand just how important each other are and as adorable as that is, without the input from less blinded individuals it’d get old very very quickly. Hachimatsu is still personally my favourite, she does the bare minimum and is hilarious but all of the supporting characters are really cool. If I were to criticise anything it’s that I’m finding them more interesting than the main two but that’s being nit picky.
