Overall Thoughts

9-1-1 is so back! They didn’t miss a beat starting with a bang of an emergency, a fully armed fighter jet crashing into a house. Leaving Buck (Oliver Stark) and Eddie (Ryan Guzman) to deactivate the bomb, what could go wrong? I’m sorry, but Christopher (Gavin McHugh) is going on his first date! We have really watched these kids grow up in the show. But the fact that he has turned into a player, and talking to multiple girls. Did not see that coming. It’s even better that Eddie is having Buck talk to him about it.

When it was announced that Bobby and Athena were going on a cruise for a belated honeymoon, I thought, what could wrong? But this is 9-1-1 and something always happens. Not gonna lie, seeing Athena Facetime Hen (Aisha Hinds) vent about her theories about Lola’s (Romy Rosemont) disappearance and Bobby texting Chimney (Kenneth Choi) to not encourage it cracked me up. Instead of Norman (Daniel Roebuck) killing his wife it turns out she was kidnapped by smugglers as the ship is being taken hostage.

“Do not encourage her.” – Bobby Nash (Peter Krause)

At times the episode did feel a little choppy and rushed in a few areas, but it still had a smooth rhythm to it. The episode is the lead-up to the cruise ship disaster that we see at the beginning of the episode with Bobby and Athena. In this episode though I feel like we did get more of an understanding of Athena and her fears. Can’t wait for next week’s episode and I’m excited for what this season holds. Its never a boring moment on 9-1-1.
