Combatants Will Be Dispatched “Annihilate Your Business Rivals” Review
Combatants Will Be Dispatched “Annihilate Your Business Rivals” is the second episode of the Combatants Will Be Dispatched anime. Like episode 1, this episode introduces the viewers to new characters. Rose and Grimm. The new recruits for Agent 6’s team!
Plot
The episode begins with Snow showing Agent 6 and Alice all the recruits for the kingdom’s army. Alice is again the one who does all the thinking here. She chooses Rose and Grimm. Rose is a battle chimera who absorbs the powers of every enemy she eats. And Grimm who can cast curses as she is a cleric of the God Zenarith, the God of Undeath and Disaster. The newly established team make their way to an enemies’ supply base. Knowing that cutting off their food supplies would be the best tactic. Snow initially hates the idea, saying it’s not becoming to use dirty tactics like that. But soon agrees once she realises she may get promoted for it if it goes well and that means more money.
After attacking the supply line they run into Heine. One of the four Heavenly Kings in the Demon Army. She’s a pretty woman with big breasts so of course Agent 6 is interested in her. She asks him to join the Demon Lord as he’s clearly strong, giving him a harem of beautiful women at his command if he does. Agent 6 immediately accepts the offer, only to literally have the sense knocked back into him by Alice.
Heine and Gadalkand
A fight with Heine ensues. Heine’s Griffin is injured with one bullet from Alice’s gun, which surprises and interests Heine. She’s led off before things can get interesting though by Gadalkand, another of the four Heavenly Kings. He kills Grimm instantly and things get serious for Agent 6. He’s just about to tear Gadalkand a new one when he’s called away to do some work.
Whilst mourning the loss of Grimm, Snow informs Agent 6 that she’ll be fine as she has demon blood in her. They just need to lay her at the alter of the God Zenarith with an offering and wait. Sure enough Grimm comes back to life and is immediately thankful that Agent 6 stayed up all night in the alter with her to make sure she wouldn’t be lonely. They go on a “date” which is basically Agent 6 rolling her around in a new wheelchair he got for her and smashing into happy couples. Grimm loves it. It’s then that we find out Grimm uses a wheelchair because sometimes her curses don’t work and when they don’t they rebound on her. She cursed a happy couple who she was jealous of to never be able to wear shoes again and it rebounded on her. She can walk, she just doesn’t want to with no shoes on.
Review
This show just gets better and better. The jokes are pretty obvious, it’s true. I saw them coming a mile off but it’s the execution of said jokes that really makes me howl with laughter. And that’s the point. It would be easy to say “well I’ve seen this before” which I have but the way the episode flows so seamlessly despite the oddities brings a freshness that separates it from other anime in it’s genre. Grimm constantly being asleep. Acting like a flirt. And immediately getting flustered when Agent 6 calls her bluff and actually pulls her skirt up to reveal her thong. Even the fact that Agent 6 found the thong hilarious got me. And if that wasn’t enough Snow makes the ultimate scumbag. Acting high and mighty all the time only to break her own rules as soon as she thinks a promotion may be on the cards.
I can’t say much about Rose as not much is really revealed about her. She loves eating people. Even still alive. But in this anime that’s not weird and I’ve come to expect it. But I do want to see more about her in episode 3. I’m interested also in how the kingdom will react to their antics. The whole thing is just nuts. Silly. Childish but most of all it’s fun. Episode 1 got me interested. This episode solidified my love for this show.
