Overall Thoughts – “Blanket”

Amy- I have to start off that I loved the showdown in the hospital waiting room between Witt and Roy/Gator. I was worried that no one would know where Dot (Juno Temple) was; very happy Witt informed Indria as well about the situation. Indira deserves so much better than Lars (Lukas Gage)! Oh my god, I love the idea that Danish Graves (David Foley) had by having three guys all change their names to Roy Tillman. And then all of them acting like him. Oh, it was so perfect! The real Roy punching a reporter really just sealed his fate too. Death would be too easy for Roy, he needs to suffer.

I’ve been very curious about Roy’s end goal when capturing Dot. I love the relationship between Dot and Gator (Joe Keery) Definitely with how Dot called him out on being sloppy. You can tell deep down that Dot wants to save Gator from Roy, of course, Dot had to ruin that bit by antagonizing him. And let’s not forget seeing Ole Munch (Sam Spruell) hiding in the backseat of Gatror’s cruiser, it’s really not looking good for Gator.

Clare- I enjoyed this episode more than the previous for sure, lots of “YES!” moments. Indira kicking Lars out, and having her “I want a husband” scene was great, good for her. And her going to Lorraine (Jennifer Jason Leigh), love to see it! Danish was simultaneously really great – with setting Roy up at the Town Hall debate – and really bloody stupid – going to Roy’s ranch alone – in this episode. Did he really think after doing that to Roy AND taunting him about it, knowing the kind of man Tillman is, that he was walking out of there?

The scene between Dot and Gator in the barn was kinda heartbreaking, her saying she could get him out to see his mother, fully believing what she hallucinated at the truck stop to be real, while he knows his mama is dead and buried was kinda cruel on both of them. I am worried for Gator, with Munch in the back of his car, but wonder if he might just be able to blunder his way through this and perhaps help Dot and get out from his dad’s gigantic shadow.

I also wonder what Roy’s endgame was in getting Dot back. Also, how come he gets to have a new wife (who is a piece of work!) since she ran off, but she’s not allowed to have remarried? That pissed me off.

Hi, I'm Amy. I was born into the fandom life and was taught all its magical ways. When I am not working, playing video games, attending conventions (where I dabble in cosplay); I am binge watching anything and everything. Though I do have to admit I am more inclined to sci-fi and supernatural genre; though I have a soft spot for historical dramas.

Hey, I'm Clare, aka Ciara or C. My current fandoms are RWBY and The Last Kingdom along with a bunch of other stuff I tend to let build up and then binge! I'm a keen, albeit amateur, cosplayer and love attending cons in various cosplays. I'm also the resident comic book girl around these parts, especially small press comics, so if you've got an indie book you want reviewed, I'm your gal! When I'm not doing the fangirl thing I am a keen long-distance hiker, having completed Te Araroa in New Zealand and The Pacific Crest Trail on the West Coast of the US.
