The Rising Of The Shield Hero “Shaking Land” Review
The Rising Of The Shield Hero “Shaking Land” is the third episode of the Shield Hero anime. Following the start of the attack on the Spirit Tortoise in episode 2 the battle is finally here. But was it really worth all that trouble? Our team go through a massive hardship to kill the Spirit Tortoise but in the end it seems it’s all for nothing as Ost is still alive meaning the Tortoise can’t possibly be dead. But how can it still live on without it’s head?
Bringing Down A Legendary Creature
Throughout this episode there’s more than enough hints that the evil person who’s controlling the Spirit Tortoise is likely the same person keeping it alive, or keeping it’s will alive anyway. Whist it’s not explicitly said I find it hard to believe the actual tortoise lived after having it’s head ripped from it’s neck, so the only answer is that someone is keeping it’s will alive and perhaps that will is inside Ost. She did randomly remember useful stuff out of nowhere it’s likely she’s more than just a familiar, all the less than subtle hints have been pointing that way.
I kind of expected something to happen, after all it would be stupid to spend so much time setting up how dangerous the spirit tortoise is and then killing it in one episode. I don’t however believe that Ost is evil. A ton of red flags are flying around her but I don’t believe she’s a traitor. I do however believe that she may become something of a tragic figure, we don’t know yet who is controlling the tortoise and using it for evil means but somewhere along the way I think her connection to it might prove to be the key to finally stopping it.
Overall this was a good episode. Better by far than the first two, for once I finally feel like the story is actually trying to go somewhere.
