The episode starts off with some heart-dropping views; as a couple was getting romantic on a penthouse balcony and when the woman went over the edge. Luckily for the woman, she was able to hang onto a sign as the 118 arrived on the scene. As the team moves to get everything in position to rescue the women, Hen (Aisha Hinds) makes a discovery that the rope holding the sign is slowly breaking.

Just as Buck (Oliver Stark) was about to reach the woman, the rope snapped causing her to drop. Lucy (Arielle Kebbel) reaches out from the window and grabs hold of the woman.

Who Needs Donations

The next call I can honestly see happening frequently. A man was donating his ex-belongings to one of the metal donation bins, as he was dropping the bags his car keys dropped inside. The man climbed inside to get them but the metal lid closed tightly behind him. Hours had gone by and no one has helped the man, he even had his car alarm go off, and still no assistance.

While the 118 were on a call next to the donation bin, Hen was about to leave when she started hearing banging from inside. That’s when the man inside was finally discovered. Hen and Bobby (Peter Krause) got him out and gave him some water for the dehydration he was in.

Share the Road

During a nighttime bike ride a woman who insists that drivers share the road with cyclists, comes into a collision when a sign flies out of a truck bed and impales the women. The two of them work together to stabilize the victim, as it’s looking a little scary. They manage to stabilize her and remove the sign from her so they can get her to the hospital.

Family Struggles

Eddie (Ryan Guzman) starts having nightmares of all the times he’s been shot or injured from either the military or firefighting. Christopher (Gavin McHugh) is concerned about his dad, and he’s not the only one. Eddie tells his son that he is seeing help for his problems and that eventually, everything will get better.

Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) takes baby Jee to the doctor as she notices something is wrong, the doctor informs her that they need to go to the hospital. Maddie’s mind goes to the worst possible place and what could it be as leukemia runs in her family. The doctor delivers some great news; Jee only had the intussusception and put her intestines back where they belong so they don’t have to do surgery, otherwise, she has a clean bill of health.

Scavenger Hunt

During her patrol, Athena comes across two teens stealing a stop sign; as the boys quickly try to leave one of them steps into traffic just as a car is coming. And since there was no stop sign the car did not stop. The other teen told Athena they didn’t want to be arrested; Athena informed him that it was only a misdemeanor. The teen then tells Athena that they were collecting stop signs for a scavenger hunt and they were having fun. Bobby calms Athena’s nerves by informing her that the teens from the scene will be okay and made it out of surgery.

Different Types of Therapy

Buck takes Eddie and Christopher to an equine therapy center; he discovered the place after doing research, Buck remembers Eddie saying how random everything seems, like there is no point to anything. Buck brings up an old rule at the 118; never go past the glass door, save the person in front of them, and whatever happens next, they are not suppose to know.

Buck then goes on about the day that Eddie got shot, how that was not even their call. The two were only at the scene because they were helping a child whose mother had poisoned him; he points out it was all just random. At this equine center Eddie sees the kid they rescued that day; Buck tells him that Eddie gave him his second chance.
