Shameless – “Survivors” Review

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS

Shameless is back for the 11th season – the last one – which started the night of December 6th on Showtime.

Shameless – “Survivors” Synopsis

Frank wants to pull one last heist with the old gang. Debbie struggles with the idea of change and blames Lip, while Lip and Brad find out the new owners of BornFree are in the mob. Mickey and Ian learn a surprising truth about Terry’s past, and Liam tries to find a new place to live. Veronica reluctantly helps her mom move to Louisville, while Kevin is forced to watch Gemma and Amy while running the Alibi all on his own. Carl is put on the eviction unit and reunited with an old partner.

What happened on Shameless “Survivors”?

Love has never been the Gallagher family strenght and we all know it. We can clearly see it since the beginning from the episode, when the younger members of the crazy family get to know Frank’s condition: dementia.

Talking about Frank, in this episode we see him trying to organize a heist at a bank with his old gang. Too bad the gang is wrecked: someone is dead, someone is at the hospice. But still, he manages to plain it all.

On the other side of the family, we have Lip trying to sell the house against Debbie’s wish. In the past episodes we’ve seen Liam having problems with this decision and thinking that everyone would abandon him. That’s why he has been trying to find a new “acommodation” the weeks before. And that’s when Lip finally tells him he’s gonna live with him and Tami. A beautiful sibling moment!

In the meanwhile, Ian is helping Mickey dealing with Terry’s death and realizing his ultimate wish: to be cremated. In the illegal Gallavich way of course.

Final Review

This episode had the right amount of fun and “Shamelessness” that I always love. Even though I missed the crazy adventures of Vi and Kev, who appeared for a very little moment on the screen. Being so close to the ending and with all the actors posting their goodbyes on social media, getting emotional has become a daily date.
