Shadowhunters – The Powers That Be Spoiler Free Preview
Man this is a FUN episode and one that ticks off a BUNCH of things we heard about over that seemingly endless hiatus. It’s time for my Shadowhunters – The Powers That Be Spoiler Free Preview!! I just got done with the episode so here are my initial thoughts!
Time to Tease
This ep really gives us some great stuff. We get bashful Jace (yes really), workaholic Izzy, Sandalwood, Asmodeus mentions, the Clace date. There’s humour, new friendships and developing romance.
The official synopsis for the episode says that something is corrupting the Warlocks’ magic, which makes for fun times when they are all in the same room at the party we saw in the sneak peek.
The Clace date manages to be both awkward and incredibly romantic. There are some super cute Saia moments that literally had me squealing.
Actually Alisha Wainwright deserves major love this episode. She has a bunch of scenes and she really shines. She’s cute, badass, awkward and seductive by turns and NAILS IT!
Dad mode Luke (Isaiah Mustafa) has now extended past Clary (Kat McNamara) and Simon (Alberto Rosende) and he’s offering dad advice to other denizens of the Institute now. There’s a moment with Izzy (Emeraude Toubia) that is just super cute!
Highlight of the episode for me was the scenes with Alec and Lorenzo Rey (newcomer Javier Muñoz). Matthew Daddario’s facial expressions in those scenes, I’m calling it now, they are going to be meme’d for centuries!
Oooh, we get to see the effects of whatever it was that the Seelie Queen did to Simon, and it’s pretty awesome.
A word of caution to the Alec fans out there… have a fainting couch nearby, because there’s a moment towards the end that nearly had me on the floor!
