Love, Victor : Table for Four Round Table Review

We are back again with another round table review for Episode 7 “Table for Four” from our beloved show “Love, Victor”. Let’s see what’s gonna happen this time. Are you guys ready for some more Creakwood drama? Joining me (Rike) on this round table review are Serena, Lena and Jen. Let’s do this!

Love, Victor : Table for Four Synopsis

Victor (Michael Cimino) discovers a surprising secret Benji’s (George Sear) been keeping.

Your opinion on Love Victor “Table for Four” in general?

R: Some unnecessary drama in this episode, but I guess you just have to keep the story going, right? However, I loved the scenes between Pilar (Isabella Ferreira) and Felix (Anthony Turpel). Always here for this kind of content not gonna lie.

S: It wasn’t the most interesting episode in my opinion. A lot was going on, but it felt like almost everything that happened is more to build towards the season finale that we are approaching compared to the earlier episodes where it felt more like situations were created to last for a few episodes. It’s still a good episode with lots of great moments, but it wasn’t my favorite.

J: I really enjoyed this episode, even though I definitely wouldn’t say it’s my favorite. My highlight was seeing Felix smile when he was distracted with Pilar, not completely sure what to think about what they did with Benji and his secret though.

L: Not the most riveting episode, but still important for the process and progress of the season.

Victor finds out that Benji had a drinking problem, which led to him attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Benji apologizes for not telling Victor, but he’s disappointed that Benji has been hiding a key part of his own life. Which side are you on? Or do you support both their reactions and behavior?

R: They’re both still some teenage kids and sometimes they’re just losing their temper. Stuff like that happens. Not saying that this “fight” was justified in general, but there are moments where it all comes together. Can’t really choose a side because of that. They were just both upset and hurt and all these kinds of emotions.

S: I understand both Victor and Benji in this situation. Benji didn’t feel comfortable sharing that yet while Victor feels quite pushed to be a person that he isn’t yet since he just came out. I feel like both need to be more understanding of each other’s situations and I do hope that they continue to be more open towards each other. I feel like we have seen quite a few petty fights that could have been prevented if they had just talked to one another.

J: It definitely is a complicated situation and I can understand both of their points. I get that Benji feels uncomfortable about this part of his life and tries to hide it from Victor but then again, trust is one of the most important things in a relationship and trusting each other with secrets, the past and even the deep and maybe not-happy stuff is important as well. I think Victor’s reaction would have been different, if Benji would have told him himself, but now that it is clearly too late for that, we will just have to see how things evolve.

L: I really don‘t know how to judge this, to be quite honest. While I do not think Benji had to tell Victor already, it would still have been nice if he could have. Understandably, due to Victor’s ongoing personal struggles, he did not yet though. I‘m sure he would have eventually though, on his own time. I can empathize with both of their viewpoints, to a certain degree, but neither of them should have “blown up” like they did.

Pilar joins Felix in watching „Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?“ after he just broke up with Lake (Bebe Wood). Do you think Rahim (Anthony Keyvan) made her kinda go for it and see what happens? Or did she realize herself that it might be worth a shot trying?

R: Rahim is definitely her emotional supporter and made her fully go for it, I guess. Loving the friendship the two of them have. Anyways, deep down she already knew that there’s a special spot for Felix. She just didn’t know if it’s friendship or relationship related. Let’s see what’s gonna happen next. I will support whatever happens. Their friendship is everything and maybe they’re ready for the next step. But maybe they’ll decide to leave things as they used to be. Who knows.

S: Probably both. Pilar has been kind of trying before Rahim told her it was obvious that she liked him. I just hope that whatever happens between the 2 of them isn’t forced. Felix is in a very vulnerable position right now with everything going on with his mom and he could be open to trying something with Pilar just for the distraction. They both deserve better than that.

J: I think it was her own choice, even though talking with Rahim probably helped her gather up the courage and take a few steps herself. I personally loved this scene and it was one of my favorites of the whole episode. I think Felix really needed the evening and the distraction and got to forget about his pain for a while. Romantic or not, the two make a wonderful team and I’m always here for more content.

L: Pilar definitely would have taken a shot on her own as well, but Rahim giving her reassurance did probably make her move quicker. At the same time I think she also just wants to be there for him, without an ulterior motive. She 100% just cares for him, without expectations and expecting anything back.

Isabel (Ana Ortiz) decides to attend her first PFLAG meeting but she’s leaving very quickly as soon as she sees Armando (James Martinez) flirting with another woman. He later on says that this is just him trying to find out what he really wants. Do you think he’ll end up with another woman?

R: They took a damn break for god’s sake. It’s not a crime to talk with another woman and see what’s gonna happen. Sure, it would be great if they figure it out in the end, but they’re also grown up people and are allowed to try something new. If Armando will end up with another person then that’s it. That’s his decision and Isabel shouldn’t blame him for that.

S: I think he probably will try dating someone else. He said himself that he would like to see other people and just see what happens and if he and Isa are even meant to be back together at all.

J: To be honest, I haven’t given this topic much thought. That being said, thinking about it now, I feel like maybe he should even put himself out there and see what else could be out there for him. Not that I would wish that on the whole family but sometimes that is what you need to realize what you have.

L: First of all, Isabel needs to realize that this is about Victor and not about Armando and/or herself. I rolled my eyes so hard when she left because of that. Like she only went for his sake and not for Victor‘s. Still makes me kinda angry. I think Armando will consider dating someone else and try out being without Isabel, in that regard.
