Walker : Bad Apples Round Table Review

A new episode of Walker ,called “Bad Apples”, has arrived and this time it’s all about a dirty cop storyline. Are you guys ready for another roller coaster ride? Joining me (Rike) on this round table review is Kassi. Let’s do this!

Walker: Bad Apples Synopsis

Captain James (Coby Bell) leads Micki (Lindsey Morgan) and the team into a drug bust with a dirty cop at the center. However, after the cop is inexplicably set free, he targets the Captain’s son in retaliation. Walker (Jared Padalecki) gives Trey (Jeff Pierre) advice on his future.

Your opinion about this episode in general?

K: I loved it. I’m actually so thankful that they went with the corrupt cop storyline. For me as a black person it was especially hard to watch but it was also something that needed to be shown – and I am so grateful that they did. They showed us the fear DJ (Joshua Brockington) felt when the cop pulled him over and handcuffed him. They showed how no one will believe you unless there’s video proof. I teared up listening to DJ’s speech to Captain James – about how even the son of a black cop isn’t safe out there because of his skin color. All in all, I feel like this episode just showed us that this show really cares about telling real stories in a truthful way and I’m so grateful for that.

R: I feel like Kassi already mentioned the most important things about this episode. I completely agree with the whole corrupt cop storyline. A truly important one. It has been in the past and it still is nowadays. We shouldn’t stop talking about it and mentioning it in movies and series. A pretty good episode overall. DJ has been a perfect addition to the cast in this episode. Loved the scenes with him involved.

Micki takes over Walker’s position as the “getting involved in everything” person. Your thoughts?

R: Love the way they’re the double trouble duo, even if one person is missing things won’t change. Getting involved in everything doesn’t have to be bad all the time. Like Kassi already mentioned, listening to your gut feeling can be pretty damn helpful most of the time. Go Micki!

K: I absolutely loved it! I think that as partners they learned so much from each other and this is just one of those things. Micki fights for what she believes in. If her gut tells her to look into something she does – and if we’re being honest, every single time her gut told her to look into something because the situation seemed weird or wrong, she was right.

Bret (Alex Landi) moved on with his life and has a new boyfriend. Do you think now that he’s helping Liam (Keegan Allen) with his campaign things will change again?

K: To be honest, I don’t think Bret truly moved on. Personally, I think it was one of those moments where you want your ex to think you’re moving on even though you’re not. I feel like Bret and Liam are still hopelessly in love with each other and that given time, they’ll find their way back to each other.

R: I truly hope they’ll find their way back to each other. One adorable couple and I loved seeing them getting a bit closer again now that Bret is part of Liam’s campaign team. Only a matter of time until they’ll be happy together again. They just have to, please.

Trey gets accepted as a surgeon but decides to pursue psychology instead. Do you agree with his decision and Micki’s understanding reaction?

R: That’s the reaction we wanna see. Supportive Micki all the way. I didn’t expect anything else from her to be honest. Always there for Trey no matter what. Be happy for your partner and support him. That’s how it should be. Also truly happy about the fact that Trey was able to figure out his mixed feelings and that Walker may have given him extra motivation. They truly have the best friendships and relationships in this series. Period.

K: 100%. He should do whatever makes him the happiest. If studying psychology makes him reach that level of happiness, then he should absolutely do it. I’m sure he’ll do great. Also in regards to Micki, her reaction was the best. She never made him feel like she was disappointed and supported him 100% – and that’s how it should be. They have one of the healthiest relationships and I’m so glad that we get to see that.

Your score:

K: 9.5/10

R: 8.5
