Game of Thrones – Looking Back with Toby Sebastian

Game of Thrones – Looking Back with Toby Sebastian

With the final episode out there in the wild (or approaching tonight for those outside the US) we are posting the final interview in our “Looking Back” series. We spoke to actor Toby Sebastian, who played Dornish Prince Trystane Martell in season 5 of Game of Thrones to find out his thoughts.

FN: What was your favourite moment for your character?

Toby: My favourite moment for Trystane was walking through the water gardens with Myrcella (Nell Tiger Free). We were so very lucky to be able to film within the Alcazar walls and it’s jawdropping beauty showed itself on screen.

FN: What is your favourite moment of the series so far?

Toby: My favourite moment in thrones so far would have to be Pedro Pascal’s (The Viper) final scene. The way he moved with such elegance and confidence as he fought convinced me he was going to win before he struck The Mountain down. Then the shock of what played out next… typical Game of Thrones finish off. Bonkers. Just wow.

FN: Did you know while filming how your character’s story would tie in to the larger plot overall?

Toby: Most actors in GOT have no idea of what their characters future holds. When I landed the role I only got my sides for the season. I then turned to up shoot and wrapped the job with no idea what was coming. It was a long 10 months of waiting.. believe me!

FN: Who do you think will sit the Iron Throne at the end of the show?

Toby: I hope no one ends up on the Throne. I feel if someone were to sit on the Iron Throne it would go against what GOT has always done so well, shocked us. I can’t say what that would mean, but I think it’s expected that one of the Starks or Daenerys end up ruling and I would love it if the showrunners completely go another way.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Toby Sebastian for taking the time to answer our questions. If you have any burning questions of your own then Toby will be appearing at Cinefan Ubeda in July and SciFi Weekender in November. Keep your eyes peeled for other appearances.

If you missed any of our previous interviews in this series then do check them out. We spoke to Ian McElhinney, Roger Ashton-Griffiths, Ian Beattie, Ian Gelder and Eugene Simon. We will be back later this week with our analysis/opinions on the series finale, so don’t forget to check back for that!
