Combatants Will Be Dispatched “How To Make An Evil Leader Cry” Review

Combatants Will Be Dispatched “How To Make An Evil Leader Cry” is the eleventh episode of the Combatants anime. Coming back to Agent 6’s story after the brief respite in episode 10. The gang are all off to take on the Demon Lord’s army. But not all is as it seems.

The plan

Alice opens the show with a debrief to Tiger Man and Agent 6. They each go separate ways, with Agent 6’s group taking on the Demons after they’ve done all the hard work for them in Toris. On the way there Alice promises to give Snow an allowance of three months if she goes along with her and Agent 6’s plans. Getting to the ruins, Snow comes up with a plan to ambush and kill all of them at night whilst they’re exhausted. Agent 6 and Alice laugh at her attempt at being evil.

Their plan is to allow the Demon Army in. Let them do all the hard work getting to the weapon. And then steal all the credit from them after defeating them. It’s cold, calculated and lazy. And the team is shocked. Not surprised. Bust shocked. They agree though and the next morning the team sneak in and tail Heine and Russell. Agent 6 asks Grimm to curse them to not be able to use magic but she has to shout to do so. It would definitely give them away. He goes for the next best plan. Waits for Russell to activate the unlocking device and kicks him in the nuts from behind.

It’s all gone wrong

Russell is down instantly and Heine is taken captive. However not all goes to plan. As Russell stopped breathing because of the attack. Alice gives him a shot to bring him back to life. And Agent 6 lies to him and tells him they brought him back because the fight is over. He forces Russell to activate the terminal as Heine is held captive. He does but he also has the power to control the mech suit that is inside. Something no-one knew. He does say anyone with a connection to the ruins would be able to control it. And Rose spent the whole episode saying she felt familiar with the place even though she knows she’s never been there. So, I have an idea how they’ll get out of the situation.

The episode ends with Heine warping away (though not before Agent 6 grabs her bra.) And the team being trapped by Russell in the mech suit.

Review

This episode covered a lot. The hints that Rose could control the mech. Or perhaps a mech of her own. The fact that team Agent 6 are really starting to feel bad for the scummy things they’re doing now. Especially Snow. She has to be consistently bribed with money to keep her on side. Rose is also having doubts. She’s clearly not liking being the bad guy. But she’s kinda naïve so she goes with it with few complaints.

I’m interested to see how this is going to play out. Whilst Russell is winning. Agent 6 generally always thinks of something. But without his team immediately agreeing to everything he does will he be able to?

Either way, this was a hilarious and entertaining episode. Especially when Alice just threatens the allowance to get Snow onside when she falters.
