What We Do in the Shadows Season 5 Premiere Date Announced
FX released the premiere date for its hit mockumentary comedy, What We Do in the Shadows, along with a hint of what’s happening this season.

Season 5 begins Thursday, July 13th.

“In season five, Nandor feels his familiar (and sometimes friend) Guillermo slipping away as he seems to be spending much more time with Laszlo, whose skills as a gentleman scientist are put to the test as he tries to solve the mystery of the strange and very secret changes Guillermo is going through.
Nadja, suffering the effects of a previously-undiagnosed supernatural hex, reconnects with her family — or at least, a family — from the Old Country, Colin pursues the path of so many energy vampires before him by running for political office and The Guide tries to figure out where she fits in as the relative newcomer to this tightly-knit group who’ve known each other for centuries.”
What’s Going On?
Looking at the poster, it seems that Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) was indeed turned by his friend at the end of season 4, if those tiny bat wings are any indication.
But his Van Helsing blood may be the reason for his troubles, and Laszlo’s (Matt Berry) involvement.
Will his ancestry turn him more into a Blade than a Dracula?
And if he has indeed fully turned, what of his relationship with Nandor (Kayvan Novak)?
Will Nandor see him as an equal, or merely a very ineffective familiar-if indeed Guillermo is a vampire.
Colin (Mark Proksch) is back to adulthood, and as boring as ever.
Can’t wait to see how Nadja’s (Natasia Demetriou) hex manifests, and what direction it will take her-she is such a fun character.
The Guide (Kristen Schaal) is the wild card. Will she fit in with the others as a regular, or is she really going to be a regular? If so, will we get her real name? This show likes to throw ringers, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
