WandaVision Episode 3 Review

WandaVision Episode 3 Review

WandaVision episode 3 is here and it’s in colour! Welcome to the swinging 60s!

This episode had it all. Comedy, drama and no small amount of horror / thriller. Things are becoming more and more tense in the WandaVision household with only Wanda and Vision being the ones unaffected by it.

And now we have babies involved. The new parents are going to have their hands full from now on.

Overview

Episode 3 seems like a jump from where we left off in episode 2 where Wanda discovered she was pregnant. Her pregnancy last bare a few weeks as it rapidly grows out of nowhere, Twilight style. With all this going on WandaVision’s neighbours are becoming increasingly suspicious of the reality they live in.

There are moments in this episode where Vision doesn’t even try to hide his true face with people in the house. I was almost certain someone would see him but they never did, suspiciously enough.

It became clear to me by the end of the episode that Vision seems to be the only person in this reality who’s not aware of it being fake. Everyone else showed signs of either knowing, or indirectly saying so. As poor Geraldine finds out by being thrown out of a digital portal surrounding Westview.

Either way, it’s enough to make anyone’s head spin if they’re not paying attention.

Review

To be completely 100% honest I did find that this episode dragged a bit for me compared to 1 & 2. The episode sacrificed some of the humour that 1 & 2 had in order to ramp up the suspense and thriller. Which, for me, really threw me off. As much as I loved the fact that it had finally answered some questions and we’d finally seen angry Wanda I miss the goofy humour.

For now. It seems to be relying on slapstick and pure strangeness to bring the laughs but that doesn’t quite work for me.

Having said all that. This was still and extraordinary episode but I’d never see is as more than a “link” episode that links one part of the series to another.
