In the episode, in a flashback Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Buck find Bobby struggling with alcohol abuse and encourage him to seek help. At his first AA meeting, Bobby meets Wendall (Maurice J. Irvin), his sponsor and friend. Tragically, Wendall dies from a drug overdose and Bobby suspect’s foul play. After investigating for four months, Bobby meets Tamar (Diana Lu), who works at the rehab center where Wendall was a patient. Tamar reveals that Wendall did not die at the abandoned lot and was never a patient at the center.

Bobby shared with Athena (Angela Bassett) what Tamar had told him about Windall’s plan to expose issues with the rehab center. Athena discovered a camera receipt and suspected that Windall had hidden it at the center. Meanwhile, Buck was recovering at home and confided in Hen about his multiple tests. He anxiously awaited any news, good or bad. Buck soon realized that Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) had arranged for everyone to check on him at specific times.

Later Buck tells Eddie (Ryan Guzman) that he doesn’t know how he feels, Eddie advises him to that he is going to feel many things since he died but that Buck needs to allow himself to feel them. Bobby receives a phone call from a very high Tamar, apologizing about Windall before passing out on the phone. She used the exact same words that Windall said on Bobby’s voicemail before his death.

Bobby arrived at the rehab center and found Tamar in a room where she claimed people had died. While searching for a camera, the building caught fire. Bobby was able to rescue Tamar, but was then confronted by Carrie Walsh (Alicia Coppola) who accused him of threatening the facility and her husband. Bobby was taken in for questioning, but Athena stepped in to help. She told the detective about the camera and how to find it. With Athena’s assistance, the detective was able to speak with Tamar who shared everything that happened to Windall.

Detective Phelps (Catherine Dent) questioned the rehab center owners and discovered they had operated dirty rehabs before. They quickly turned on each other. In the end, Buck received the all-clear from his doctor and can return to work. Maddie tried to help Buck, but he reassured her that he has a checklist to remind him that he is alive every morning.

Overall Thoughts

I absolutely adore how Maddie has rallied people to visit Buck and check up on him. We all know that Buck isn’t one to sit still and take it easy. Learning the reason behind Maddie’s actions was even more touching than any previous moments. Buck has been through so much in the past six seasons, and this latest accident has been a real wake-up call for him. You can see how much it has shaken him up, even more than when he was crushed by a firetruck. I just hope that this experience doesn’t scare him away from his job or change him too much.

Personally, I found it to be a bit slow-moving compared to previous ones. However, I do understand that it was necessary to tie up loose ends and conclude the storyline with Windall and the rehab center. On a positive note, it was great to see Bobby stepping up in AA and potentially becoming a sponsor. It’s always inspiring to witness personal growth and progress. While none of the team members were actively working, it was still an interesting episode, especially with Bobby’s heroic act of saving Tamar. Overall, I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.
