With 40 days (yes really) still to go until The Vampire Diaries 6th Season premieres on the CW fans have been salivating over the 30 second promo that hit this week.

The loss of Bonnie and Damon when the “Other Side” collapsed at the end of season 5 seems to have affected everyone in very different ways. Junior Gilbert has gone back to his hard drinking ways while moping in a cemetery, Stefan seems to be hanging out in the house he and Elena were living in during their weird hallucination last season (and also drinking) while Luke seems to have moved on from anti-traveller magic into drug pushing. As Caroline puts it in her own inimitable style, “Did you know Elena has some sort of witchy drug problem, that allows her to hallucinate Damon?”
Is this the only way we will see Damon this season? In Elena’s drug-addled hallucinations. I certainly hope not, but the only way to be sure will be to tune in when The Vampire Diaries returns on October 2nd at 8pm E.T. on The CW.
