The Executioner And Her Way Of Life “Goodbye” Review

The Executioner And Her Way Of Life “Goodbye” is the fifth episode of the Virgin Road anime. Following the set up for Akari’s death in episode 4. This episode shows us just what the device is and just what’s been going on behind the scenes. Turns out the church is evil and Orwell has been working with the Noblesse in order to find a way to make herself younger. That’s why she wated Akari, her Pure Concept of time will do that, she plans to rip her personality from her so she can use Akari’s Pure Concept for her own. Meanwhile Momo and Ashuna have to fight a security dragon of sorts in order to escape the underground tunnel that connects the Church to the Palace.

The Church’s Crimes

I loved this episode, it just solidified why I love this show. Akari is now in a situation where she’s looking at a fate worse than death but doesn’t know it but true to her character cares more about finding out if Menou is OK from the fall she took than finding out why everyone around her is suddenly being really forceful.

Menou is finally realising, I think, just how much Momo does for her. Though I’m not sure if she knows why, Momo and Ashuna have great chemistry with each other so I’m looking forward to seeing more of their fight. Both Ashuna and Momo are observational and smart so they’re constantly trying to outwit each other, I already liked Momo fine but with these few scenes I’ve become a Momo convert. She and Ashuna are fantastic and I find myself wanting to know more about their story than Menou and Akari’s, especially now that all the beans have been spilt.

Or at least I assume all the beans have been spilt. The question now is what will Menou do? The Church was her entire existence, it’ll hard for her to go against them. Can’t wait to see the fights next week and hopefully in future see what everyone decides to do about the Church’s treachery.
