Superman and Lois The Eradicator Roundtable Review

We are back with our review of Superman and Lois “The Eradicator” after a 2 week break due to the Olympics. This episode was packed with crazy good stuff, so let’s get into it.

Superman and Lois “The Eradicator” Synopsis

Lois  (Elizabeth Tulloch) is worried about Jordan (Alex Garfin) as he and Sarah (Inde Navarrette) continue to grow closer; Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) pays Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) a visit; Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) spends more and more time with John Henry (Wole Parks).

The opening of the episode shows Edge (Adam Rayner) turning into The Eradicator, what do you think that will mean for Superman and the people of Smallville?

PB: I would think he wouldn’t come back to Smallville but he has it bad to get back at Superman so I think he will be back for a big fight soon.

C: Trouble. Big, BIG trouble.

R: Things are gonna get ugly and I’m not ready for the season finale. No one’s safe. Anything’s possible.

How do you feel about Jonathan and John Henry’s “friendship”?

R: It can go both ways. On the one hand John could see him as some kind of a replacement child one day, but definitely not anytime soon. On the other hand like Clare already mentioned, Jonathan is and always will be a reminder of all the pain and suffering. He will always remind him of his past which won’t be helpful as he’s trying to move on.

C: I get why Jonathan is doing it, he’s trying to find where he fits in, but sadly I think being around a teenager, especially one whose mother is Lois Lane, just reminds John Henry of what he has lost.

PB: I feel like Jonathan is still looking for his place within this “super” family and he feels like John Henry is still finding his way as well. They are lost souls and maybe they have found a friend with each other.

Clark said Lana was his best friend, did you guys know this?

C: Yeah, I remember it being said earlier in the show. I think it’s sweet.

PB: I feel like I didn’t know this. Like I know they dated or whatever but I never got the vibe that they were best friends.

R: Maybe not best friends, but I definitely remember that they were pretty close back in the days. Definitely a cute friendship which I would like to see more of in the future.

The Town’s hatred for the DOD seems a bit over the top. Do you think they have the right to the all truth or do you think they are better left in the dark?

R: Maybe the best of both worlds? A bit of the truth, but not too much to unsettle everyone. They truly deserve to know what’s going on. It’s not like a usual daily thing that you have the DOD taking over most of the city. It can be terrifying for some people. It was no surprise that it escalated “a bit” at some point. Patience truly is at an end.

C: I don’t think it is that over the top. Their town was attacked, people had weird shit done to them, then basically the army takes up residence on Main Street but won’t tell anyone what is going on. I do think it might behoove General Lane (Dylan Walsh) to have been a little more open. Not saying tell them everything, but if they had known Edge was loose, and that he was still a threat, maybe he would have been found sooner.

PB: Their hate and anger is so real and so much. I understand wanting to know all the details but maybe they need to trust the process. And maybe just maybe the DOD is there to help and protect them.

The Eradicator somehow has taken over some innocent folks’ minds in Metropolis and they are wrecking the city. The same thing that happened in John Henry’s world. Did you see that coming?

PB: I really didn’t. I thought for sure they were going to be able to stop him before it got too far but I guess not.

C: Kinda, yeah. I think this whole season has been set up for that to happen, but for it to go the other way. Like we saw with John Henry saving Lois, which he wasn’t able to do in his world.

R: Yes and no, I guess? Of course they ended up combining the stories from both planets. Feels like the “past” is catching up with Superman, John and everyone else. I just didn’t expect them to nearly copy paste the whole story with Lois being close to death. My heart stopped for a second even though I was sure they wouldn’t kill her off after one season. Phew.

Edge took Jordan and he is going to turn into one of his followers but will Superman be able to turn him back? Or do you think his emotions will get the best of him?

C: I’m pretty sure that Superman will be able to save Jordan, but I think it’s going to be a tough one.

PB: I hate that Superman is so emotional all the damn time. He needs to suck it up and kick some ass for his son. Come and hug Lois. Uggh that bugged me so much.

R: I truly hope that Superman will be able to turn him back. This clearly won’t happen overnight, but Superman will figure it out. This is his son we are talking about. He will do EVERYTHING. Giving up is simply not an option. Maybe now is the time for Jonathan to get some powers and help his dad trying to get his “old” brother back?

Thoughts on the new Evil Jordan?

PB: Honestly, at least he won’t be a whiny teenager for at least one episode hahahah

R: We didn’t actually see a lot of the evil Jordan as of now. I just hope that he won’t hurt anyone. Especially not his family. Please and thank you.

C: Whiny brat becomes abusive dad… this is going to be WEIRD!

Overall rating:

PB: 8.5

C: 6

R: 7.5
