Spy X Family “The Great Dodgeball Plan” Review

Spy X Family “The Great Dodgeball Plan” is the tenth episode of the Spy X Family anime series. After the wholesome as all hell episode 9 with Loid and Yor, we’re back to focusing on Anya at school. Both Anya and Damian learn of a rumor that they can earn a Stella Star if they are named most valuable player in the upcoming dodgeball tournament. As such, Anya requests training from Yor. They train together and Anya manages to keep up with Yor. At Eden Academy, both Anya and Damian are placed on the same team. Anya reads Damian’s thoughts and discovers he wants to earn the Stella Star to come out of his brother’s shadow and be acknowledged by his father. However, they are matched against the inhumanly massive Bill Watkins, who slowly eliminates their team. Anya manages to discover his plans for each throw and dodges accordingly. Fed up, Bill launches the ball with all his strength at Anya, but Damian surprisingly protects her, being eliminated in the process. Anya gets the ball and prepares to launch a powerful throw she honed, but she throws it on the floor, which Bill then uses to eliminate her. However, Henderson declares no Stella Stars will be awarded. Just as he feels proud that his class were able to work together as a team, Damian, Anya, and Becky quarrel again.

Anya’s Dodgeball Skills

This was such a funny episode! Anya clearly knew that she could just read people’s minds when it came to dodgeball but she asked for help from Yor anyway, cue more adorable Yor and Anya moments. Though I love those moments, I’d love to see more of Anya with Loid.

At this point it’s looking like no-one is going to get any Stella Stars but that may change if Anya, Damian and Becky stick together and stop being so stubborn.
