Review: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow 613: Silence of the Sonograms
Legends 613: Silence of the Sonograms- Bishop returns, Mick goes into labor, and Constantine answers for the secret he has been keeping.
Spoilers ahead!
Bishop is Back, Mostly
We see what Sara(Caity Lotz) was so shocked by at the end of the last episode. Bishop(Raffi Barsoumian) has returned(well, 94% or him-when Sara destroyed his compound, he didn’t complete downloading).
She imprisons him straight away, but Ava(Jes Macallan) wants a crack at him. The team also makes sure he is 100% human, by having Gideon(voiced by Amy Louise Pemberton) scan him. Spooner(Lisseth Chavez) gets to watch Bishop, with orders to blast him if he tries anything.
Interrogation
Why should your feeling be any less real than anyone else’s?
Ava begins questioning Bishop, as Sara and Nate(Nick Zano) play chess and watch. Bishop pleads to her sense of family, as he created her. Getting inside her head, he helps plan the wedding perfectly. Like, crazy perfectly.
The missing 6% of 100% human Bishop is Sara Lance.
Mick is in Labor
Mick(Dominic Purcell) is in labor. Under the guise of helping, Bishop has induced Mick’s labor. Using the fact that he has Sara’s genetics to take over Gideon and lock himself in(and Gary out) with Mick in the infirmary. He does end up saving Mick, as the delivery was a breech birth. Through the nose. Gary(Adam Tsekhman) does get to be the godfather, though.
Bishop doesn’t want the babies. He steals Mick’s communicator and waits.
The Scarlet Lady
Zari(Tala Ashe) wants to know what happened at the Fountain John drank from. Spooner can’t remember, since John erased her memories of it. Astra(Olivia Swann) helps her recover her memories, and it ain’t pretty. Astra warns Zari that Constantine is dangerous right now, and she needs to know what he is drinking. She confirms it is the juiced up blood, or “The Scarlet Lady” as they call it in hell.
Confronting John
Zari confronts John, and he confesses. She returns to the ship to get him tea, and John’s hell begins.
Demon John
A purely evil incarnation of John, that John thought was from his juiced up imagination, is completely real. It attacks John, and takes his communicator. The real John, beaten and battered, is too weak to fight. It is dressed as John, talks like John, and it contacts Bishop.
Thoughts on Legends 613: Silence of the Sonograms
Really loved Astra in this episode. She should be utilized more. Hell was hell, but it was a dimension full of the worst in humanity. She is shrewd, and very smart.
Love Spooner’s spunk. She must be the gives no hecks replacement for Dominic Purcell, if he really is leaving at the end of this season.
Missed Shayan this week. Must be shooting something epic elsewhere!
The last few minutes with Matt Ryan’s Constantine elevates this show above all other superhero shows right now. Losing the character of Constantine next season is going to be a serious loss for this show. Hopefully, it means Matt is getting his own show, or his immense talent is being used somewhere else.
