So if you’ve been keeping up you may have heard that there is going to be a web series spin off from The Originals. The Awakening will be 4 episodes based around Kol Mikaelson (played by Aussie actor Nathaniel Buzolic) in 1914 New Orleans. Having been undaggered by Klaus he runs off and makes a pact with the witches.
According to The CW, “Fans will learn how and why Kol found himself in opposition to his vampire siblings, why he was daggered, and the unique back story he has with the witches.”
The 4 part series will start on November 10th during the east coast airing of The Originals and air over the subsequent weeks up to, and tying in with, the mid-season finale on December 8th.
Carina Mackenzie, one of the writers of The Originals, told E “In the web series, fans will get to see how some events of last season can actually be traced back to Kol, and we’ll reveal some clues as to his current agenda with Davina.” In light of this week’s episode, ending with Davina and Kol driving off into the sunset (kinda anyway), and the fact that everyone knows Kol’s current identity, well, all except Dear Old Dad anyway, I can’t wait to see what the scheming youngest Mikaelson has in store for the teenage witch.
