Money Heist : Your Place in Heaven Round Table Review

Our favorite gang is back at it again for their final dance and we couldn’t miss the chance to review the last episodes. Will they make it out alive? Let’s see what’s gonna happen this time. Episode 4 of Money Heist is called “Your Place in Heaven”. Are you guys ready for some more drama? Joining me (Rike) on this round table review are Sabrina and Maria Lorca. Let’s do this!

Money Heist: Your Place in Heaven Synopsis

With Helsinki’s (Darko Peric) life in danger, the thieves mount a covert counter attack. Years earlier, Berlin (Pedro Alonso) and his son conduct their first heist together.

The episode is starting off with Helsinki’s life being in danger. Do you think he’ll make it in the end?

R: Having seen the end of the last episode, I expected something to happen to Helsinki. Him being alone in there not stopping what he’s doing until he’s done. I truly don’t want anyone to get hurt. Helsinki is just like a teddy bear you wanna hug all the time. Hope he will make it out alive. They probably have to cut off his leg sooner rather than later, but if that’s gonna be the only thing then I can live with that, I guess. I just don’t want him (or anyone else) to die. Please. We already suffered enough.

S: I really hope he will make it. He was one of my most favorite characters since the beginning even though he wasn’t really a main character. But I love him and he’s like a big teddy bear so I really hope he’s gonna make it!

M: Somehow I believe he might be the only one to make it out alive. In many ways he is the most innocent and best person of the whole crew. I like them all but he is the only one without a real dark side and as you said a real teddy bear.

Hans (Maarten Dannenberg), the security guard, is never leaving the door unprotected but once he saw his father he acted “unprofessional” and didn’t wait for the other guard to cover him for a short time. Thoughts?

S: It was kinda weird to be honest! Still don’t really know what to think about this and can’t really sum it up.

M: As someone who has cared for a very sick parent I can totally relate to his actions. I understand it might look unprofessional but when you are in such a situation being a carer becomes second nature and takes precedence over everything. His dad seemed to be suffering from some sort of dementia. To me it made total sense, especially since there were a lot of other security measurements in place and he had already called for a replacement.

R: I truly thought that this was a bit strange and unrealistic. Would a security guard in real life actually do that? Leave the one door you have to protect with your whole life unprotected ,for whoever knows how long it could have been, just because you saw your dad and want to help him immediately? Maybe yes. But it still doesn’t make sense to me somehow. He should have been waiting for his relay. Of course he had to follow his dad so that Berlin and his son Rafael could enter the room. That’s the storyline and otherwise the plan wouldn’t have been working out right from the very beginning. However, I’m still here like: Nah, that’s not it. What a bummer.

Manila (Belen Cuesta) revealed that she was always in love with Denver (Jaime Lorente). Were you expecting this at all?

M: I haven’t really thought about it, but I didn’t like it, because it was a typical cliché, with the LGBTQIA+ character being secretly in love with their unknowing best friend. I loved the sibling dynamic between the two until that point and would have preferred for them to keep it like that, with Denver being a protective brother.

R: Now that she said it, it makes sense. We saw the flashback scenes in the last episodes. Denver and his dad were there for her right from the start. Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t fall in love with Denver? He might be a stubborn piece of sh*t from time to time, but as people like to say: Tough on the outside, soft on the inside. Am I right? But to answer the question: No, I was a bit surprised to be honest.

S: I had a feeling to be honest. But then I just thought, naaaaah this can’t be. Well it can and it happened! But I also think those two wouldn’t work that well together.

Money Heist

There’s a safe lock the Professor (Álvaro Morte) and his people didn’t know about. Do you think there’s more to come? Did they miss some other important things?

R: There might be more to come. Okay, there’s definitely more to come, trust me. There’s only so much information a person can receive. It was about time that the Professor missed out on an important detail. This could be a turning point now and it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna be all the way up from now on. Hopefully the Professor will find another way out soon. Pretty soon. It’s getting tough in there. Time is running out.

S: This is the magic of the show right? Always something happening that we don’t expect. But at the moment it’s more tense than ever so I’m more than curious what’s coming next!

M: The professor always mentioned that this heist was not as well prepared at the first, therefore it makes sense. He is forced to improvise a lot more than before and this has brought him out of his comfort zone. You could really see him panic over this. Somehow it feels like this is where Rafael will come in, since otherwise the whole flashback with him would just feel like a filler. But it definitely feels like this is just the beginning and I have the gut feeling that in the best case they will just make it out alive.

In the end we see Gandia (José Manuel Poga) walking towards the small group, Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó) in particular, being like: “A little bird just told me that Nairobi (Alba Flores) is saving you a place in heaven.” It seems like there won’t be a way out of this. Do you think Gandia will be the winner in the end? Or is that too obvious for now?

S: Jesus Christ please not!!! He just doesn’t deserve to win, just NO! Something will happen I know it but he won’t win! He just can’t!

M: I sure don’t hope so. It looks like a no-win-scenario but we have seen that before and in a way that is what the show is all about. Gandia is definitely a formidable adversary because he is the most ruthless character in my opinion, which makes him very dangerous. Our heroes will have to push their limits to take him out.

R: Please not. I don’t want him to achieve his goals and become the winner in the end. God. I wanna watch him die so badly. Or at least knocked out. That would be a great start. Yeah, can someone knock him out with a baseball bat? I would really appreciate it. I do hope and pray that this whole thing is too bad to be true. They’ll find a way out. They’ll make it out alive even if it seems impossible for now. I know that they’ll find a way. They always do. Okay, most of the time.

Your score (1-10):

M:I loved the flashbacks, but there was too much shooting. I will go with a 7.

R: Let’s go with a pretty solid 8 for this one.

S: Mixed feelings but I go with a 7.
