Mieruko Chan “The Girl Who Sees” Review

Mieruko Chan “The Girl Who Sees” is the twelfth and final episode of the Mieruko Chan anime. This episode does exactly as a final episode of the season should. Closes off the season but leaving enough questions that keep people interested in what will happen in season 2. Miko’s journey is clearly far from over and her life too peaceful for it to last for now. After the events of episode 11 everyone has pretty much gone back to normal, with a few exceptions.

The story secretly continues

Zen is back to his old self but believes that Miko’s sentence “can’t you just set him free?” Aimed at the ghost of his mother was for him. So he becomes even more blunt than usual but generally stays the same. Yulia, Miko and Hana are clearly getting closer. The only person who’s changed is Miko. After a dream (or was it a dream?) About going to the old shrine to thank the kitsune spirits for saving her and being devoured she wakes up much more courageous. She openly admits that ignoring them is getter easier.

However Takeda, the old lady with the shop, gets a mysterious letter from an unknown, with the picture of Hana and Miko at the shrine inside. She looks shocked but the viewer doesn’t get to see why.

Life goes on for everyone. Unknown to Miko, she’s being followed by the shrine ghosts now…

This was the perfect way to end the series. Only thing I’m annoyed at is the fact that I now have to wait for more. I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as me, see you when Season 2 starts!
