Matt Ryan to join Legends of Tomorrow as Season Regular
Update, 4/02/2018: Legends of Tomorrow has been renewed for a fourth season, guaranteeing more of our favorite exorcist!
Congratulations to our favourite trench coat sporting master petty dabbler of the dark arts (he does hate to put on airs). We have just heard that Matt Ryan is to join Legends of Tomorrow as a Season Regular. This is on the proviso that Legends gets renewed for a fourth season, which we will be crossing everything for now.
Matt has certainly had a bumpy ride playing John Constantine. His lead role on NBC was axed after only half a season, but he reprised the character on a season 4 episode of Arrow (which had the highest rating of any episode that season). He has also voiced him for both the Justice League Dark animated movie and the forthcoming Constantine animated series on The CW Seed.
Ever since the NBC series was axed, there has been a loud fan campaign-which we have been proud to be a part of, dedicated to reviving the series. This isn’t quite what we hoped for, but it’s a hell(blazer) of a big step in the right direction!
Most recently Matt appeared in the mid-season finale and mid-season premieres of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, helping the crew of the Waverider along in their quest to defeat the demon Mallus. He single handedly managed to flirt with almost the entire crew (I think Mick Rory was the only hold out) so goodness knows what he will get up to when he’s sharing living space with them! Constantine will reappear in the upcoming season finale as well, a fact leaked by current regular Nick Zano on instagram during filming!
