Jordan Elsass Exits Superman & Lois
Yep, you read that headline correctly. Variety this morning has reported that Jordan Elsass, who plays Jonathan Kent, will NOT be returning for the third season of Superman & Lois on the CW. The role however WILL be recast.
In a statement the WB said that Elsass is leaving for personal reasons, not anything to do with the working environment on the show.
If you’ve been reading our roundtable reviews of the show the past 2 seasons you’ll know that we were definitely gunning for Jonathan Kent to gain powers and become Superboy like his comic book counterpart. We saw a glimpse of that with the Bizarro storyline in season 2, but nowhere near enough (IMO). I’m very sorry to hear that we won’t see Jordan continue in this role that he has done so brilliantly in. We wish him all the best with his future projects.
We will keep an ear to the ground on this one, and let you know as soon as we hear who will be replacing Jordan as Jonathan Kent. With season 3 due to begin production imminently, hopefully it won’t take too long to find out.
