Superman and Lois “Truth and Consequences” Roundtable

Superman and Lois is on another mini hiatus, but PurpleBrina and Clare are here to quiz each other on the latest episode, “Truth and Consequences” in our regular roundtable.

Superman and Lois “Truth and Consequences” Synopsis

Jon-El (Jordan Elsass) catches sight of his doppelgänger Jonathan; Jon-El lunges at him and Jordan tries to intervene, but Jon-El appears to be stronger and faster than him.

The synopsis is basically what happened in the first few minutes of the show. Jon-el has made it back to the Kent Farm before Superman (Tyler Hoechlin). He starts right off by trying to merge with Jonathan. He is almost successful but Superman shows up just in time to stop him. There have been so many close calls with these Bizzarros, do you think there will be any other successful merges?

PB: I think there will be a few more but hopefully not any main characters. But I was wondering if Jon-El and Jonathon had merged which one would have been the dominant soul to win over. Like would he still have powers or not.

C: I think the only one that might be successful will be Tal Rho if he comes through to this world.

Jordan (Alex Garfin) took his mom’s advice to write a letter to Sarah (Inde Navarrette) because she isn’t replying to his messages. In the letter he told her the family secret. What do you think of this? Is this the right thing to do?

C:  Abso-fricking-lutely NOT.  He might think it will save the relationship to tell her the truth, but I can’t see if doing anything other than upsetting her that he kept it a secret for so long, and putting her in danger.

PB: I feel like it could be the best thing to save their relationship but it’s also not because it’s a huge secret and responsibility to not tell anyone and they could get hurt. And it might backfire because he has been lying to her.

Jon-El kidnaps Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and he uses her to trick Superman into coming to rescue her. When he shows up Jon-El uses a pressure bomb to hit Superman with Kyptonite. What did you think of this scene with Lana and Superman?

PB: I am a hardcore Superman fan but I will NEVER understand how no one doesnt see that Superman and Clark are the same person. So for Lana to be that close and talking and helping Superman get the kryptonite out of his body and she still doesn’t notice this is him……..blows my mind!!! But she also seems like she is crushing on Superman.

C: I gotta agree, when you’re literally that close to the person you’ve been best friends with since you were a kid, no way you’re not gonna see it. I did see a video of Christopher Reeve taking off the Clark Kent glasses to turn into Superman and his entire posture changes at the same time. You can almost believe that, but not this.

Sarah refused to take Jordan’s letter. And thank goodness because of what was in it. Jordan lets Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) read the letter and she blows up. But in a twist, Clark comes in and blows their minds by saying he is going to tell Lana the truth about him being Superman. Do you think Jordan is going to tell Sara anyways now that Clark is going to tell Lana?

C: Probably, and then she’ll get in danger and prove why it was a fricking terrible idea!

PB: Honestly, the way the teenagers act on this show, I am almost 100% he is going to tell her. They have no respect for their parents’ rules. Even the rules and secrets that protect the family.

Lois has a little heart to heart with Sarah to try to smooth things over for Jordan and when Jordan finds out he blows up at Lois. Were you shocked at all that Lois apologized to Jordan for what she did?

PB: I was shocked because she was really trying to help him but like usual the teens on this show piss and moan and get their way. I think Clark is a harder parent than Lois. She needs to cave sooner.

C: Kinda yeah, cos that totally wasn’t why she went there in the first place. If she’d just said to Jordan that she’d gone to see Lana, who wasn’t there, and ended up talking to Sarah who was upset, then maybe Jordan wouldn’t have gotten all mad. She didn’t need to apologise cos she did nothing wrong.

Clark finally reveals himself to Lana as Superman………..

PB: I think as much as I want this to go over well, it’s not. It’s gonna take Lana sometime to get used to this. She is gonna feel hurt that he lied to her for YEARS! But I do think she will come around. It’s just gonna take time.

C: Yep, I think the same. She’s probably going to need some time to get her head around this.  I do think it was a really lovely scene though, and the way he turned the tree to ice was beautiful.
