Don’t Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro “Want To Go To The Festival Senpai” Review

Don’t Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro “Want To Go To The Festival Senpai” is the seventh episode of the Nagatoro anime. Unlike previous episodes. This episode doesn’t start as a story continuation of episode 6. It starts a whole new arc. One I’m already loving.

The Festival

Nagatoro is being quiet with Senpai and he’s not sure why. It’s the day of the festival and he was almost certain she’d bug him to go. He almost takes the initiative and calls her but he’s not quite there yet. Eventually he decides to just go alone. And he’s happy enough, secretly hoping Nagatoro is there, but he bumps into Gamo and Yoshi. They pretty much take him captive, sending a picture of him with a collar on to Nagatoro who’s at her swim club to get her annoyed. It works and she shows up pretty darn quickly after that.

Gamo and Yoshi suggest they play games to decide who gets to keep Senpai as a pet and they all agree (Senpai has no say here.) They play games almost all night and Gamo and Yoshi win more toys than Nagatoro and Senpai but Nagatoro suggests that since she got a super rare toy it should be worth more. She wins over Yoshi and Senpai is released to her.

Left alone they go to watch the fireworks but the line is huge. Senpai saves Nagatoro from being crushed by a shoving crowd and takes her to a secret spot he watched the fireworks at as a boy. It’s all going fine as they start to tease each other. Until they notice the couples who’re using it as a secret spot to snog in.

Senpai’s had enough

Senpai clocks Nagatoro and all her friends at a bench in the park. Two boys approach who’re trying to hit on her and Senpai is immediately mad, the tides have turned. It’s his turn to barge in there and save Nagatoro. He steps on a twig, though and announces himself earlier than he meant to. Somehow, he gets the courage to speak up and he says “let’s go” to Nagatoro and her pals.

They’re all thankful to him but they do still tease him as all the girls thought those guys were annoying.

Review

I loved to tone shift. There’s still teasing between the two of them but they’re almost on even ground now. Senpai can read Nagatoro like a book and Nagatoro is getting increasingly flustered around him. He doesn’t even rebuke they’re on a date when she says they are whilst watching fireworks.

They’re cute, even just as friends. Both their personalities are changing for the better and it’s adorable.
