Coming Home In The Dark 1000x600

Coming Home In The Dark plays at Cleveland International Film Festival

Coming Home in the Dark is based on a short story from the New Zealand writer Owen Marshall. The movie will play Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) 2021 virtual fest until 20th April.

Coming Home In The Dark Synopsis

The story was written by Eli Kent and James Ashcroft, and produced by Mike MinogueCatherine Fitzgerald and Desray Armstrong. It’s James Ashcroft’s first feature film.

It all started with a family winding down a desolate road through an endless valley. After some time Alan “Hoaggie” (Erik Thomson) and Jill (Miriama McDowell) stopped their car to take their teenage boys on a hike through the New Zealand wilderness. While they’re taking a break at a clearing overlooking the water, two ominous-looking drifters appear out of nowhere. They silently surround the peaceful clan and radiating a threat of imminent danger. Soon, they find themselves captured by the psychopath Mandrake (Daniel Gillies) and his accomplice Tubs (Matthias Luafutu).
