Honorable Mentions

We are now seeing Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) slowly become herself again and go back to work at the dispatch center. Gotta say the call center didn’t look the same without her. Though she feels like she is starting over since the call center has been moved to a new location, as it burned down in ‘May Day’. It’s the fact she realized she wanted to go back after witnessing it burn down on live television. Maddie returning to the call center is a huge step in her recovery.

Favorite and Least Favorite Part

My favorite part is got to be Maddie and Chimney (Kenneth Choi), who have gone through the wringer over the past few seasons but this season was one of the roughest with the birth of their daughter and Maddie going through postpartum depression. Their relationship really took a hit. Love how it’s being hinted at a romantic reunion in the future.

“Remember, talking about it makes it less scary.” – Christopher Diaz (Gavin McHugh)

My least favorite part; is how Bobby (Peter Krause) blames himself for everything that went down with Jonah (Bryce Durfee). In this episode, he also finally learns about the kiss between Lucy (Arielle Kebbel) and Buck (Oliver Stark). He is feeling like he is missing all warning signs. It breaks my heart that everyone on the team is seeing Bobby spiral and all are concerned about him, but Bobby is being stubborn. Luckily Eddie (Ryan Guzman) talked to him before it was too late.

Standout Moment

The standout moment for this episode is the wedding, well what was Toni’s (Marsha Warfield) wedding turned out to be a vow renewal for Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Karen (Tracie Thoms). Of course, the boys had to ruin the surprise just a little. Tonie did this because she didn’t go to their wedding the first time. We got to see their son walk Hen and Karen down the aisle as Toni officiated the wedding.

Overall Thoughts on the Episode

My thoughts on the episode, it does have an underlying tone about relationships. As some of our characters are going through different trials and stages in their personal relationships. That Buck and Taylor (Megan West) have ended there’s compared to how Hen and Karen renewed their vows. During this episode, we also got to see the 118 joke as a family again, something that has seriously been lacking this season as we’ve been missing a few key members.

As the episode ended, we see Eddie back at the 118 as our team is heading for another call; the 118 family is whole once again. Seeing Eddie back with the group had me so excited. The episode did a great job at ending this chaotic season and we got to see all of our favorites one last time until next season. I can’t wait for the epic return and see what troubles our rescuers face in season six. See you in the fall for season 6 and be sure to return for future updates.

You can watch all of season 5 and previous seasons on Hulu.
