Before Claire and Jamie got down and dirty in bed, they bonded over some romantic wedding night pillow talk that we never saw when the first season of Outlander originally aired.
Fortunately, PEOPLE gave us an exclusive look at the deleted scene from the now legendary episode in question. In it, Jamie tells a nervous Claire about his extensive family history.
“A lot of the stories you’re about to hear Jamie talk about were actually taken verbatim from [Diana Gabaldon’s] book,” says showrunner Ron Moore.
“In the final aired version of the episode, we opted to make this whole section much shorter and turn it basically into a montage,” he adds.
As they speak, day turns into night and Claire’s wedding jitters (and her guilt over betraying Frank) slowly fade away.
