STARZ recently released a new teaser for Outlander and the preview gave us fans a sneak peek of two characters that become integral to the plot of the upcoming second season.
In the featurette above, stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe — as well as production designer John Gary Steele, set decorator Gina Cromwell and executive producers Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis — offer some insight on construction of the sophomore season’s “very ornate, very grand and very elegant” sets and costumes.
What you already know if you’re a loyal fan: The Scottish historical drama travels to Paris in its second season, as Claire and Jamie attempt to thwart the Jacobite uprising by infiltrating French society.
What you’ll be verra pleased to learn if you’ve read Diana Gabaldon’s Dragonfly in Amber, which serves as the basis for Season 2: The clip features new footage from the upcoming episodes, including Claire and Murtagh arriving at L’Hopital des Anges, new character Mary timidly talking about sex (and getting heartily mocked for it by fellow newbie Louise), and… is that Fergus we see helping Jamie down from the carriage?
Oh be still my fangirl heart! So many feels, so many possibilities. Are you getting as excited as I am? I hope so, because season 2 of Outlander cannot come soon enough.
Outlander returns on Saturday, April 9, at 9/8c
