BAMF! X-Men: Apocalypse finds its Nightcrawler

While it’s been known for a while that the roles of Jean Grey, Cyclops and Storm had been recast with younger actors for the forthcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie it came as a surprise to many when director Bryan Singer announced via instagram today that we would also be getting a new young Nightcrawler in the form of Kodi Smit-Mcphee.

Excited to welcome @kodismitmcphee to the cast of #XmenApocalypse as young #Nightcrawler. @alexvaughanphoto

You may know Smit-Mcphee from horror flick Let Me In, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes or from voicing Norman Babcock in ParaNorman. He joins Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan and Alexandra Shipp as the re-cast Jean Grey, Cyclops and Storm respectively. With news this week that Daniel Cudmore won’t be playing Colossus in the Deadpool movie it’s not above speculation that he may not return for Apocalypse either.

What do you think about recasting these roles? Let’s here your thoughts.
