Watch: ‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2’ Poster and Teaser Trailer Released

We have been patiently waiting for this day to come. But if you’re like me you’ve been wait not so patiently. Lionsgate released The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 the poster and teaser trailer. Just as for the previous sequels, a burning mockingjay pin lights the spark in the new Hunger Games franchise logo, “Remember,” which mimics Katniss’s evolution from brave symbol to fierce revolutionary. Now that we’ve come to the conclusion of Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) journey, the Mockingjay has broken free completely. And because no franchise conclusion is complete without a self-laudatory headline, Mockingjay – Part 2 provides us with “The Fire Will Burn Forever”, so that your children and your children’s children will know that these movies shall endure for all eternity.

While I don’t know if The Hunger Games can withstand the test of time, it’s been a pretty memorable saga so far, and the teaser trailer gave me a nice mix of nostalgia and chills even though it only contains snippets of dialogue from all four movies. Hopefully, director Francis Lawrence can bring this popular saga to a powerful finish.

Check out The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 teaser trailer and poster below. The film opens in 3D on November 20th, and also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci, Julianne Moore, and Donald Sutherland.

And here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2:

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
