The Walking Dead: Strangers

In Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead, most of the gang is back together and away from Terminus but they’re about to face bigger problems then the walkers. Screams of help echoing in the woods, they found a mysterious pastor surrounded by walkers. They save the pastor, Father Gabriel, and right from the beginning something seems a little off about him. He said he’s been surviving on his own, held up in a church not too far away. Its pretty evident that the group doesn’t trust him very much. They follow him back to the church. It is a little suspicious that’s he’s been held up there the entire time alone.

Father Gabriel’s’ real story is yet to be discovered, but I have a sneaking suspicion that he’s not a very good man. And we know for sure that he’s scared to death of the walkers and can’t protect himself very well. While out looking for food and supplies, they come across some nasty waterlogged walkers. One in particular has a pair of glasses still on and she’s coming straight towards Father Gabriel. They kill her of course, but the reason why she stands out is that later you see Father Gabriel looking at a photo of himself with a woman wearing glasses. I’m sure we’ll find out later on who she was. In the meantime, Carl discovers on the outside of the church a message that reads “You Will Burn for This.” More proof that something is not right.

After finding some food, the group gathers in the church and finally has a moment to relax and eat. It was a peaceful moment that we don’t get to see too often on TWD. Taking advantage of everyone’s good spirits, Abraham makes a toast and gives a pretty powerful speech. As he again tries to rally everyone to his plan to head to Washington, this time he succeeds. In turn, Rick gives the go ahead to accompany him and Eugene on their quest for a cure.

And here comes the game changer. I’m going to take a guess that while the group was battling the walkers earlier in the day, Bob must have gotten scratched or something. Does he believe he is now infected?  He goes outside, and collapses against a tree, crying, and then gets knocked out.

Even thought they all escaped Terminus in the premiere episode, the cannibals were never far behind, watching them and waiting to make their move. While episode 2 was another great episode, the last 2 minutes really stole the show. Drum roll please….Gareth is back! So Bob wakes up from getting knocked out, and who’s there to greet him with some insane justification as to why they eat humans, none other than Gareth and his crew of crazy cannibals. For a second you may have thought that they were just going to kill Bob right there and then, but in actuality Gareth is eating a nice chunk of Bob’s leg. Pan over to the fire pit, and we catch a glimpse of Bob’s severed foot.

That being said, who thinks Bob is now infected? What was your reaction to the end of episode 2?
