Primal Instincts

Ryn encounters some resistance as she continues to try to teach the other mermaids how to be more human in order to better assimilate; Maddie finds herself in a dangerous situation while trying to help her mother.
Katrina
Even though they look very much like humans, they are not. They are mermaids and sometimes their primal instincts take over. Which is what happened in this weeks episode. All of the newly humans have had issues with not being able to be in the water as well as understanding life on land.
Katrina is NOT happy with her life on land. As she has been working with Xander but I seriously think that she is going to double cross him and do her own thing. She seems to have plans of her own already and she is trying to get a following.

She is not beyond taking folks out to get what she wants. I am worried it’s either going to be Xander or Ryn. She isn’t going to have many issues getting the others to follow her, as some of them are already not too happy to be on land.
Sarge
Sarge has been mostly grunts and smiles so far, but he has one of the most beautiful moments in this season so far. He couldn’t take it anymore and had to get into the water. But it’s what happened after he got into the water that just melted me. He and Helen share this moment and it truly is just beautiful.

He lifts his hand to Helen’s through the tank glass and she simply tells him he is beautiful. I am not sure why I loved this moment, but I do. So many scary tough things going on around them, but this was like a small pause in the drama to just breathe.

We all know Maddie’s mama is bad news, but we all know we love our mama’s no matter what. So when her mom asked her to go back to the hotel and find her wedding ring she goes. But she has muscle with her in the form of Ryn. Maddie sneaks in, gets the ring and is about to leave when the bad drug dealing ex boyfriend shows up. Just when he gets a little to hands on with Maddie, Ryn comes in to help. And by help I mean kick his ass and then some.

Ben
Xander and Ben reconnect and have decided to work together on this oil drilling. Ben is shocked to find that his family is behind it or at least working with the oil company. I can’t wait to see what he decides to do with this info.
Ben has a lot on his plate besides this stuff with his family and Xander. However, he has some matters of the heart going on too, especially after this 3 way kiss that happened with Ben, Maddie and Ryn. They have decided to try to have some sorta relationship, even a sexual one. This is going to interesting for sure. I really am starting to wonder if Ben and Maddie have true feelings for Ryn or if it is because of her Siren Call?!?!
