Walker : Two Points For Honesty Round Table Review

Season 2 is finally here. Are you guys ready for another roller coaster ride of emotions? This Walker episode is called “Two Points For Honesty” and trust me, you don’t wanna miss out on this one. Joining me (Rike) on this round table review are Kassi and Walker Source. Let’s go!

Walker: Two Points For Honesty Synopsis

While setting up protective detail on Trey (Jeff Pierre), Captain James (Coby Bell) is shot and left in critical condition. Walker (Jared Padalecki) takes on the role of interim Captain and turns to an unlikely source for help.

Captain James wants to share his governing responsibilities. Do you think Jack (Ione Butler) would be a good Micki (Lindsey Morgan) “replacement” from what we’ve seen so far?

K: Yeah I agree, it really is way too early to tell but she seems like a great, smart and badass character, so who knows. It’s definitely something I would love to see though.

R: I think it’s a little early to tell if Jack would be a good replacement for Micki. Not saying that she’s not good for this job but there’s not enough we’ve seen so far. However, I’m sure that she’s qualified and trustworthy. Not sure about the connection between Walker and Jack and James and Jack. Let’s see, right?

WS: I agree that it is too early to tell if Jack is going to replace Micki or not. But either way, the actress, Ione Butler, had great chemistry with Jared and Coby so i wouldn’t mind having her as a part of the main cast. Jack could be a good addition to the team!

Do you think that the old Walker would have acted the same way by not wanting to be the guy who makes all the tough calls?

WS: Yes, I think that Walker is a soldier to the core and that wouldn’t change. He likes to be on the field and (sometimes) bend the rules. I like the fact that he has this “hit first ask questions later” type of personality but it wouldn’t fit the role of a captain. He was a good leader as an interim captain but I’m glad he knows where his strength lies and rather be on the field than behind a desk.

R: I do think that he would have acted the same way but only much later. He probably would have been like “Yeah, I can do that for a little longer. No problem.” But in the end the result would have been the same. I’m glad that he made this decision immediately. It’s the best thing for him. He knows what he truly wants and what he’s able to do. Not trying to push things anymore.

K: Yes I do. I don’t think he ever wanted to be the guy who makes the tough calls. He always wanted to be the guy on the field who takes action instead (and who ignores the rules if they stood in his way). But Cordell is also the guy who is willing to take on huge responsibilities if he has to and he tries to make the best out of them. I think that’s why he was such a good captain for the short amount of time that he had that huge responsibility. But in the end I’m glad that he was able to admit that being captain is not something that he wants to do.

Your thoughts on the cliffhanger between Liam (Keegan Allen) and Stan (Jeffrey Nordling)? Do you think the Davidson’s purposefully set the fire to gain land? Or was it truly an accident by Walker after all?

R: I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised to see that happening though. The Davidson’s are nasty even though they pretend to be good human beings most of the time. But like Stan already said in this episode, every person is a villain in someone else’s story. We should watch out and more importantly the Walkers should watch out. It would be kind of a relief to see that it wasn’t Walker’s fault after all.

K: Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised either. It just seems like something they would do. If that was the case, I think it would be interesting to see whether the Davidsons really blame the Walker family for the fire or if they just use that as an excuse to not feel guilt over the part that they played in Marv’s death.

WS: If they did set the fire to gain land that plan really backfired (no pun intended) and Marv paid the price for their greed. I’m convinced the barn fire wasn’t just an accident caused by Walker and there is more to the story. I’m curious to see how the rest of the story will unfold and I’m pretty sure there will be a twist with Denise (Amara Zaragoza) because I don’t think she is that clueless about what happened.

Do you agree that Liam should finally feel redeemed for always thinking the worst of the Davidsons?

K: Oh absolutely. He has been right from the beginning. It doesn’t matter if his dislike for the Davidsons started because of his jealousy towards Denise or not. He was absolutely right in thinking that there was something fishy going on with them. I just wish Cordell could see that too. But fingers crossed that Cordell is going to learn the truth about them soon.

WS: I hope he will ! I don’t know if all of the Davidsons are evil but Liam is definitely into something here. Bonham (Mitch Pileggi) did say “Cordell has a soft spot for people from the past” and i think that’s why he wants to believe so badly Denise and the Davidsons are good people. It will be a great moment when Cordell and Liam finally get on the same page.

R: Yes. Do you want me to say it again? Yes, please. Walker should start to trust Liam on this one. I know he always wants to see the best in people, but sometimes that’s not possible. Can’t wait for the moment when everything’s coming out. Liam will get the attention he deserves. Hopefully I’m right with this one.

Your score on Walker “Two Points For Honesty”?

WS: Solid 9

K: It’s a 9 from me – I absolutely love that we got to see more of Captain James as a person instead of a captain this episode.

R: 8
