Walker : Tracks Round Table Review

The seventh episode of Walker, called  “Tracks”, has arrived, and this time it’s all about Micki Ramirez (Lindsey Morgan). Since they focused on another main character and did a little change, we also thought about doing things differently henceforward. What about a round table review, shall we? Joining me (Rike) on our discussions from now on is Kassi. Let’s do this!

Walker: Tracks Synopsis

Captain James (Coby Bell) and Liam (Keegan Allen) follow up on a tip regarding Emily’s (Genevieve Padalecki) murder and head to Mexico for more answers. Trey (Jeff Pierre) escorts Stella (Violet Brinson), August (Kale Culley) and the girls soccer team to an away game but things take a dangerous turn.

Your opinion about this episode in general?

K: I loved it! When you are watching an episode of Walker, you can expect at least one twist per episode – which was also the case in this one. In my opinion, the revelations of those twists are what keeps me up on my toes and makes the episodes that much more interesting.

R: I really enjoyed watching this one especially because of the fact that this time they focused on another person besides Walker – go Micki!!

What do you think about the trip with Trey and the kids? Was it okay to let Trey be the only “watchdog”?

R: In my opinion he shouldn’t have done it all by himself. I mean, it’s always best when two grown up people are watching a group like this.

K: I think them not getting more adults to watch the children was a disaster waiting to happen. Trey could only do so much but we all know that teenagers are smart and will always find a way to do things they aren’t supposed to do.

Trevor (Gavin Casalegno) standing up for himself and the rest of the gang – a hero move or a bit too much?

K: I do believe that Trevor saved everyone because if he hadn’t stood up to those men, it might have taken a very different turn. You could see that as soon as he saw the gun, he reacted without thinking. This made me ask myself if maybe the reason he didn’t stand back is because he had a lot of experience with men like this due to his father.

R: It was really brave of him to stand up for himself and the rest of the group, but getting into a fight really wasn’t it. It all escalated pretty quickly and I still don’t understand why these men are coming for some little kids. Look for people your age if you really wanna fight, right?

How do you think Micki will cope with the latest news about Adriana (Alex Meneses) and her past in general?

R: It’s a whole damn lot to deal with – felt like Micki was hit by a truck with receiving all these news at once. I do hope that she won’t isolate herself from everyone else. She needs her friends and Trey right now and I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll have her back – especially now that she really needs it.

K: I do think it will take a lot of time for her to process that. Unfortunately I don’t think that she will spend a lot of time talking about it. Knowing her, she will probably throw herself into work so that she doesn’t have to think about what she found out.

Why did she call Walker (Jared Padalecki) first and not Trey?

K: Micki and Cordell have been bonding for quite a while now. Even in this episode Walker told her that he will always have her back. He was also the one who believed Micki when she said that something is fishy about her mom and followed up on that. Maybe she told him because of those reasons. Or maybe she told him because she felt like he would understand and not ask too many questions. In regards to Trey, I do think it is always way too hard to start such conversations with the people closest to you.

R: Maybe she thought that Walker would be the one who understands her the most with everything he went through. They are both dealing with a lot of stuff and can help each other to finally be completely happy again.

Liam and Captain James in Mexico. This whole “undercover” mission won’t do any good concerning their relationship with Walker, right? Once they’ll tell him the news – what do you think his reaction is going to look like?

R: It’s not good at all. They should have told him right from the very beginning because now it’s already too late. It doesn’t matter that they’re finally doing it – that’s a really bad move and there’s no excuse. Walker deserves to know the truth and shouldn’t feel excluded (especially in this case). This will probably end up really bad. I can feel it. All the disappointment and anger coming up.

K: He will probably feel very angry and betrayed – especially by his brother. I get why they thought that they couldn’t tell him but that doesn’t make it right. For such a long time they have told Walker that he is delusional and that he should stop looking for answers regarding Emily’s death – only for them to do the exact same thing. Unfortunately I do think that this will put a strain on all of their relationships and that Walker won’t be able to forgive them for a longer period of time.

Your final score for this episode:

K: 9/10

R: 8.5/10
