Walker : Partners and Third Wheels Round Table Review

Season 2 is finally here. Are you guys ready for another roller coaster ride of emotions? This Walker episode is called “Partners and Third Wheels” and trust me, you don’t wanna miss out on this one. Joining me (Rike) on this round table review is Kassi. Let’s go!

Walker: Partners and Third Wheels Synopsis

Tensions run high when Walker (Jared Padalecki) and Liam (Keegan Allen) investigate a cold case together. Micki (Lindsey Morgan), still on desk duty, is working through her grief while slowly easing her way back into the field. Trey (Jeff Pierre) tags along for a fishing trip and gets a lesson on love.

After everything we’ve seen in this episode, do you think Liam will be able to keep his word and be civil to the Davidsons next time he sees them?

R: If yes, then it’s definitely not gonna last for a long time. Maybe he can pretend that everything’s fine for a hot second but sooner or later another comment from the Davidson’s will make him explode again. He’s a pretty emotional person when it comes to this topic. One can see the similarities between Walker and Liam. Like Kassi already said, hopefully he’ll put all of them back in their place if they’re making a scene again. Trusting Liam with this one. He knows what’s good even though sometimes it seems like he’s overreacting.

K: I really think that he’s going to try. For Cordell. Do I think it’s going to work though? Not at all. The Walkers and the Davidsons are just way too different and there’s way too much bad history between them. It’s going to be hard to stay civil to a group of people who are not nice and civil to you. But I don’t really blame Liam for being wary of them. Especially Dan (Dave Annable). And I got to be honest – I’m rooting for Liam and hope that he’s going to put all of them back in their place if they decide to act out again.

What do you think is gonna happen between Walker and Geri (Odette Annable)? Do you think they’ll be able to keep their friendship?

K: 100%. I don’t think that they would let their feelings get in the way of their friendship. They’ve been through way too much together. It is going to be a challenge though. Watching someone you have feelings for date someone else must hurt so much. But I really think they need this. They need to see if their feelings for each other only stem from the fact that they’re the only ones left from their friend group – the only ones who get how the other one is feeling – or if there’s something real going on between them. If it’s the latter then they’ll find their way back to each other when the timing is right.

R: To be honest, it’s not going to be easy if they want to continue their friendship. Some stuff happened in the past which may bring them closer together from time to time but also tear them apart at certain points. Especially now that Geri might have someone new on her side, things will get complicated at first. I’m crossing my fingers that it’s not gonna end up all weird every time they see each other.

Should Walker try to enter the dating waters again or is it too early for someone new?

R: Definitely too early I would say. Don’t get me wrong though, Walker deserves all the happiness and love in the world but I feel like he wouldn’t be able to handle all the stuff he’s dealing with right now plus having a girlfriend. He needs to be at peace with himself first before he embarks on a new adventure. He’s still dealing with Emily’s (Genevieve Padalecki) death, the Davidson’s, the whole Micki situation and a whole lot more. Right now I don’t see any free space for another person in his life. Maybe things will change sooner than we think. Who knows.

K: I think it’s too early for something serious. The thing is, I’m afraid that if he starts dating someone – for example Geri – that said person is only going to be his rebound. I mean Emily might have been dead for a while but Cordell only just came to terms with her death after they found out who killed her. So to him (and others) it must feel like he just got out of a relationship. I mean even Geri said in this episode that sometimes she feels like he’s still married. That’s why I think that he’s not ready for something serious yet. He could try casually dating though.

The episode ended with Micki arriving back home and seeing the painting, with a sticky note on it that says “Who is Garrison?” as she looks towards the closed bedroom door. Is this going to end well?

K: I mean we do know that Lindsey is going to leave the show soon so I think this might be the beginning of the end for Tricki. And the thing is I absolutely get both sides. Micki needed time to deal with her thoughts and feelings about Garrison (Matthew Barnes) before she told Trey about it. Like she said – she kept all of it in. On the other hand, we have Trey who doesn’t know what happened to the person that he loves and why she’s been so distant since she came back. He wouldn’t even have found out about Garrison if Bonham (Mitch Pileggi) hadn’t let that part slip, so for him it must feel like Micki trusts anyone but him with her feelings. And while it’s certainly not like that, it might seem that way when you have no background information. I really do hope that Trey is going to let her explain why she didn’t tell him though.

R: No. Easy answer. This relationship, which I truly love, had a lot of downs lately because of the lack of communication from Micki’s side which I understand to a certain level. It’s never easy to deal with the stuff Micki’s dealing with and had dealt with in the last few episodes, but Trey truly deserves to know the truth. He tried his best but didn’t succeed yet. The little note might be too pushy for some people, but I think Trey did the right thing confronting Micki with the whole Garrison topic. Now it seems like they have to talk to each other. No other choice. Knowing that Micki’s leaving the show this won’t end well, but hopefully the conversation will be helpful for both of them.
