Walker : Douglas Fir Round Table Review

Season 2 is finally here. Are you guys ready for another roller coaster ride of emotions? This Walker episode is called “Douglas Fir” and trust me, you don’t wanna miss out on this one. Joining me (Rike) on this round table review is Kassi. Let’s go!

Walker: Douglas Fir Synopsis

Micki (Lindsey Morgan) tells Trey (Jeff Pierre) about her past and they question their future together. Walker (Jared Padalecki) and Liam (Keegan Allen) put aside their difference to work a new case.

Do you think Liam will lose his job after putting in a false call on Dan (Dave Annable) to initiate the bust and see if he’s up to something?

K: Unfortunately I do. Especially because he told Denise (Amara Zaragoza) about it. Stuff like this always has consequences. And while I am totally on Liam’s side here, Denise won’t be. She’s going to be on her husband’s side which is totally understandable. But it also means that she’s probably going to do anything in her power to make sure that Liam loses his job.

R: I do think that things will end badly for Liam. I was so happy that he at least got this part, not his first choice but still good as a start. The way that he’s kinda ruining it for himself is making me sad. I agree with what Kassi said, Denise will be on her husband’s side. No doubts. Liam will probably punch himself later on. I mean, he already admitted that it wasn’t his best move. Guess this means that there won’t be any new job as a PA or anything related to that anytime soon. This sucks big time.

August (Kale Culley) hurt himself in the barn before finding the broken storm lantern. Do you think finding out the truth is going to tear the kids apart?

R: Maybe it will tear them apart at first but even though they’re young they can act more grown up than their families. This will only be a matter of time until they realize that they still need each other and finding out the truth of what happened might even bring them closer together in the end. To be honest, everything’s possible with this show.

K: I hope not.. The kids have been through too much already and they really need each other to lean on so that they can heal. But it might start conversations. Conversations with their dad. Who knows, maybe the kids will be the ones who will help close the rift between the Walkers and the Davidsons.

Micki has left the building. How much of an emotional mess are you now that it’s really happening?

K: I’m genuinely not okay after watching the last episode. I’m going to miss her so damn much. Seeing Micki say goodbye to everyone left me in tears. I genuinely couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t have asked for a better ending. She left while she was on good terms with everyone and I’m so so proud of her (& of Lindsey) for putting her mental health & her happiness first. I truly hope Micki finds her love for her job again – like she used to. I hope that going back home is going to help her with that.To be honest, I just really can’t imagine the show without her.. Watching Lindsey shine on Walker has been amazing. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better Micki Ramirez. I’m holding out hope that one day we are going to see her again. So.. may we meet again, Micki Ramirez.

R: Is there a comparative form for the word “emotional mess”? If yes, then that’s me right now. I will truly miss her as a character. She brought so much to this show. Incredible acting and what a performance in general. She deserves more than a round of applause. The show won’t be the same without her. Walker won’t be the same without Micki. Trey won’t be the same without Micki. Every single person won’t be the same now that Micki left the building. I truly hope and cross everything I have that she might come back at some point. Even if it’s just for a couple episodes. I already want new Micki content. She’s like this one person who’s entering a room and everyone’s immediately in a good mood. It’s been a pleasure to watch her and get to know her character. Thank you Micki. Thank you Lindsey Morgan. You rock!

Your prediction on Walker’s new partner? Do you think it’s gonna be another woman or a man this time?

R: I’m hoping that they won’t replace Micki immediately. The worst would be a new partner for Walker and they can’t and won’t ever get along with each other. Worst case scenario. But let’s stay positive. Maybe one day Walker will get a new partner but until then he can work together with Larry (Coby Bell). Let’s get the old team back. It’s about time, right?

K: Good question. I kinda hope that he’s going to work more with Liam or Captain James now. We already know that Larry & Cordell were great partners back in the day and even now they have such a great dynamic. I’d love to see more of that. I also think that Liam and Cordell working together could help them become closer. They need that. Especially now with them always fighting about the Davidsons. But to be honest it’s hard for me to see Cordell with any partner that isn’t Micki.

Your score?

K: 9.5 – Lindsey did a phenomenal job this episode.

R: 8.5
