Hold on to your hats….
Jeremy Gilbert is off to art school and that means it’s time to say goodbye to Steven R McQueen.
McQueen, grandson of the Steve McQueen, has portrayed Elena’s younger brother Jeremy since the very start of the show but episode 14 of the current season will apparently be his last appearance on the show. Show runner Julie Plec said that McQueen “is all grown-up and ready to move on, so we’re saying goodbye to him as a series regular. We got him a cake and dressed as superheroes and gave him a big party!”
Now that caught my eye. The actor has been very vocal about his desire to play Nightwing (the grown up incarnation of Batman‘s Boy Wonder sidekick Dick Grayson, even going as far as tweeting pics of him working out in a shirt with the Nightwing logo on)
So Plec’s mention that they dressed as superheroes at his goodbye party has me wondering. The Teen Titans live action series is on the horizon, and they’ve already said it will feature Nightwing. Is this why Steven is leaving TVD? Rest assured if I hear anything I will let you know!
