Comedienne Joan Rivers remains in critical condition in a New York hospital after going into cardiac arrest last week.
“My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world,” Melissa told E! on Friday. “Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”
“4 the first time in years I got down on my knees & prayed tonight!” Osbourne wrote. “I encourage U 2 do the same 4 Joan Rivers my grandma!”
Rivers was undergoing minor throat surgery at Yorkville Endoscopy in Manhattan on Thursday when the medical emergency occurred. E! News reported that Rivers was having her vocal cords examined.
During the procedure, Rivers stopped breathing, and clinic staff called 911. She was rushed to Mount Sinai, and was placed in a medically-induced coma.
