The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ hit the charts again over the U.S. Labor Day weekend and became the highest-grossing domestic movie of the year 2014. From Friday to Sunday, this new Marvel movie earned up to $16.3 million through Canadian and U.S. ticket sales and it topped the chart again for the third time since August 1, when the movie was first released.
The domestic sales in total for “Guardians of the Galaxy were $274.6 million which surpassed the sales of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ which were $259.8 million.
The distributor Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures reported that the around the world, the movie has earned $547.7 million.
Oh, also, somewhere along the way Guardians Of The Galaxy’s soundtrack titled Awesome Mix Vol. 1 became the #1 album in America.
According to Billboard, the album sold over 109,000 copies a week, and is the first soundtrack to hit #1 while containing nothing but previously released music.
