Today, I give you a 2fer, ‘cause I can’t seem to get either out of my head.
The year was 1992 – I was a freshman in high school and everyone started calling me Purple Girl. (Funny enough, some folks still call me that.) We were all wearing cross colors. Hip hop/Rap was in a good place at that time and this was one of those “ear worms” that you couldn’t help but sing.

The year was 1993 – I was sophomore in high school, everyone was wearing overalls and bomber jackets (yes, even in SoCal), and this was one of those smooth R&B songs that you love to dance and sing too.
