The Executioner And Her Way Of Life “Regression Memories Soul Spirit” Review

The Executioner And Her Way Of Life “Regression Memories Soul Spirit” is the sixth episode of the Virgin Road anime. Following the eye opening episode 5, it seems the show isn’t quite done shocking us all. It could easily be assumed that this episode would be the “battle episode” but things are shockingly revealed here that change the entire show. It seems there’s a subconscious part of Akari, a version of her that can use her Pure Concept at will, this version is dangerous and incredibly single minded. She even destroys Momo’s hair ribbons out of possessiveness over Menou. This version of Akari then resets time for herself and leaves only certain feelings of deja vu so Akari is unaware of just what she’s capable of. Everyone wins their respective fights, with the destruction of her ribbons a catalyst for Momo to release her full power. The church’s higher ups cover up the whole thing and claim Orwell’s death an accident and Menou is more determined than ever to kill Akari and Akari more determined than ever to die by her hand and her hand only.

Akari The Villain

OK so calling Akari a villain in that one moment is strong but she’s definitely not like the normal Akari and her actions are very sneaky and villainous. She’s planned everything to make sure Menou stays with her and I’ve gotta say I love the darker Akari. She’s awesome and has made an already fascinating character more than just “kind and fun” now I’m gonna question everything she does and has done. Menou seems to have some idea just how strong Akari is but not a clue as to what I’ll call “dark Akari” she’s still devoted to the church which is frustrating but still understandable considering her roots.

I’m just hoping that eventually Akari can use her powers to help Menou at least to help her make peace with her past and encourage her to walk away from the corrupt as hell church. They both deserve happiness, even if it does make Momo jealous. Now I cannot wait to see what happens in the next chapter!
