Tomodachi Game “I Really Can’t Be Friends With A Murderer” Review

Tomodachi Game “I Really Can’t Be Friends With A Murderer” is the sixth episode of the Tomodachi Game anime. Following the downfall of Tenji’s master plan in episode 5 Yuichi makes it clear just how he pulled off the mother of all tricks. Apparently he used the cards and had the people confirmed as non traitors to give him their name tags so they could prove their loyalty. Then the show takes another absolute baller turn as Yuichi admits he’s the murderer that was mentioned in the bad mouth card not Shibe. This of course means he lied and is punished by being sent to the goal to clear game 3 on his own. Then the show decides “we’ve not had enough twists” and has Tenji say that the person he wanted to get close to was Yuichi cos he likes him (don’t believe it) he’s punished the same way and they both fall to game 3 after a very nice smooch. Not before the show throws another curveball that this isn’t Tenji’s first Tomodachi Game though.

Love In The Midst Of Murder

Well that was a wild ride! Slower paced than usual but the more I think about it the more I appreciate the sheer ridiculousness of it. If you thought this show was far fetched before, it’s even mor so now. I mean, Yuichi planning that far ahead and all going to plan perfectly? I doubt it so much. He took into consideration literally everything, he’s Light from Death Note on steroids but it’s so over the top and unbelievable it’s kinda funny. The whole Tenji confession thing I believe to be fake too, it’s his second Tomodachi Game, him saying “is this your first time” is almost certainly relating to that. Now all that’s to puzzle out is what exactly is Tenji’s deal? Why is he so desperate to win the Tomodachi Game and will he be able to pull the wool over Yuichi’s eyes?

Honestly as cheesy as this episode was I absolutely loved it and love it the more I think about it. It never feels like 20 minutes and things just keep escalating, it’s hilarious.
