Superman and Lois – Through the Valley of Death Review

The team are back again, this time to chat about Superman and Lois episode 11 – Through the Valley of Death.

Superman and Lois – Through the Valley of Death Synopsis

Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and John Henry (Wole Parks) can’t seem to agree on the best way to stop Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner); Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) encourages Jordan (Alex Garfin) to focus on strengthening his powers to help locate their dad; an old friend is brought in to help with the search.

Overall Thoughts

C: I really enjoyed this episode. It was pretty tense and action packed, kept me chewing my fingernails right until the end. Loved seeing Jonathan coaching Jordan to use his powers. I liked the idea of overwriting Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) with Zod, but that kinda removes the possibility of a big Zod v Clark showdown, and those are always a fun time!

R: Best thing about this episode was Jonathan supporting his brother Jordan all the way. Their bond is everything and I’m glad that they didn’t fight for a long time now. In addition to that I also enjoyed the amount of action and intensity. Last but not least I was a bit disappointed to see that the “evil” Superman didn’t last long. I thought if they truly made this happen it would take Superman a bit longer to change back again. This seemed a bit too easy and fast for me.

PB: This episode was a little tough to watch. I hate seeing Superman hurt and struggling. But it was nice to see the boys work together and help save their dad.

Have we seen the last of Morgan Edge?

PB: I feel like even though he is locked up he is still going to find a way to get out and start trouble all over again.

C: Oh I have no doubt at all that Edge will be back. That last shot of him in the cell, when his eyes flashed said it all. Besides, when have the DoD ever actually managed to keep a super powered villain contained for long? They suck at it. They have the worst security EVER!

R: Not at all. Hello? It’s Morgan Edge we’re talking about. He won’t be sitting in jail being like: “Okay, guess I lost.” That’s not his style. He still has his people working for him and I’m sure he already has a Plan B and maybe even C and D. This man is full of surprises and it wouldn’t shock me if he makes it out of jail anytime soon. Definitely some more drama with him in the near future.

In this episode the dark side of General Lane (Dylan Walsh) shows up again. He was willing to kill Superman. Did you believe him when he told Lois he would never try to kill Superman again?

R: He might be telling the truth now, but this can change any second. Maybe he’ll be working together with Edge one day. I’m sure he wouldn’t need a lot of talking to get him in. But ,maybe I’m wrong and he finally chose the good side now. Who knows.

PB: I don’t believe him at all. He is power hungry and he hates that Superman has more power than him.

C: I want to believe him, but I don’t. Sam’s default seems to be K-weapons first, ask questions later which is very not ideal.

Thoughts on John Diggle (David Ramsey) being the Green Lantern? Do you think we will get to see him flying high, fighting bad guys next to Superman and the Flash?

PB: I really hope so. I think it’s long overdue that we get a new Justice League character on DCTV. I think he will be a fun addition.

C: That would be pretty damn cool. It was nice to see Dig show up. I know I dipped out on Arrow fairly early on (season 3ish) but he was always one of my favourite characters and I like seeing him in crossovers. His recent non-Diggle appearance in Legends of Tomorrow was pretty fun too!

R: As you guys already know I don’t know a lot about the comics and all the different characters, but I’m sure that he’s gonna be a pretty good addition to the already existing superheroes and bad guys. Can’t wait to see more of him and his character in general. Nice first impression.

Do you think the Town will stop their hate of Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and her family or do you think they will have to move?

R: I don’t think they’ll have to move, but they probably have to be strong for a bit longer. This won’t end anytime soon I guess. These people probably need their time to calm down and understand who’s the actual bad person here. Should be pretty easy, but sadly for them it’s not as of now. Hopefully this won’t get any worse.

C: I think they will find a way to get past this, hopefully when the DoD packs up and moves on things will be able to get back to the way they were. I do think there might be a rather big confrontation at some point, but after that things will settle.

PB: I think eventually it will blow over but I feel like it’s gonna take awhile.

Superman and Lois – Through the Valley of Death Rating:

R: 8

C: 8.5
