This week with Avengers: Age of Ultron hitting the UK cinema’s, I’ve been on a marvel kick, when I went to see the film, the cinema had a soundtrack for another marvel film playing which I love, I have it in my car and can sing along to all the songs. Today I had my nephew over, he didn’t want to go shopping with his mum and sister so I let him sit and put on a marvel film for him, as the marvel tunes and the flickering pages revealing the logo started he was trying to guess which film was playing, he was right on the third try, he is Ten by the way and knows so much about Marvel.
This film has a superb cast and the soundtrack is amazing especially since it features in the film so much, we have the likes of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Batista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Glenn Close and even Benicio Del Toro, you know it can only be Guardians of the Galaxy.
The songs for this soundtrack feature a lot in the film, they are part and parcel of Starlord’s past and why he is the person he is, songs given to him by his mother, songs she listened to growing up, song a lot of us have heard when we grew up. With songs like Cherry Bomb by the Runaways, Ooh Child by The Five Stairsteps with Peter Quill himself sings in the film, Escape (the Pina Colada Song) by Rupert Holmes, Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede and Go All The Way by the Raspberries, you are all bound to be bouncing and singing along just like me!
My top picks for this soundtrack are as follows: –
Cherry Bomb By the Runaways
Hooked on a Feeling By Blue Swede
Pina Colada AKA Escape by Rupert Holmes
Thank you and enjoy your sunday
