Cabin Fever (2016)
This soundtrack sunday we are getting into a little horror. As Halloween is now approaching I thought we should start getting into the spirit so to speak. So I bring you the remake of the horror film Cabin Fever (2016).
Now I am not normally a horror film kinda girl unless there is someone I like in it. This remake would have slipped past me if it wasnt for the gorgeous presence of Matthew Daddario. He stars in this alongside the likes of Gage Golightly and Samuel Davis.
The Plot
5 college friends go on a trip to a cabin in the middle of some woods set by an idyllic lake. Taking time out from their studies and hectic timetables and letting off some steam. They cut themselves off from all the modern-day things that can sometimes get in the way. The car is filled with the essentials for a trip and they stop for fuel as they almost arrive at the cabin and pick up some beer.
Whilst paying one of the party Paul (Samuel Davis) is bitten by a kid at the station. Instead of apologising the family start shouting at him for letting the kid bite him. This makes them feel like they have really left civilisation as they drive off. Jeff (Matthew Daddario) being a law student starts uttering about lawsuits as he drives the to the cabin.
Once at the cabin they realise just how cut off they are and start to get on with what they went for fun and frolics. Jeff has his girlfriend Marcy (Nadine Crocker) with him and they start to get some alone time in the room. Whilst quiet shy Paul badly flirts with Karen (Gage Golightly) as they swim out to a platform on the lake. That leaves Bert (Dustin Ingram) the nerd who starts to go stir crazy without his games.
Things start to get out of hand not just with the nutty Bert and him playing with a rifle instead of a console remote. In addition it turns out the group are infected by a flesh-eating disease and they slowly isolate themselves trying to survive. Equally important fact is that things go nuts when someone highly infected turns up and escalates their fears. Couple this with the fact that the local town is full of gun-toting hillbillies and a weirdo sheriff. It is an interesting film and the music score intensifies the feelings.
