RWBY Vol 7 Episode 7 Discussion – Worst Case Scenario

In the aftermath of Tyrian’s attack, Ironwood is becoming even more isolationist and Robyn has gone full vigilante. It’s time for Clare and Sophie to breakdown their thoughts on the latest episode, so get comfy for our RWBY Vol 7 Episode 7 discussion. Be warned, this discussion will contain spoilers – so read on at your own risk!

How far would you be willing to go to do what’s right?

What did you think of Nora (Samantha Ireland)’s tirade at Ironwood (Jason Rose)?

C – I kinda wanted to give her a high five when she was done. I loved that Ruby (Lindsay Jones) came up and put a hand on her shoulder. That to me said Ruby was there both to calm Nora down AND back her up in what she was saying.

S – it was pretty epic tbf… she really is not holding her tongue, it’s about time someone said what we have all been thinking!

The other surprising thing about that scene with Ironwood was Ren’s “Yes sir”. I know we talked about Ren (Neath Oum) being a little off in our discussion of the last episode, did him falling in line with Ironwood surprise you?

C – That was a big surprise, like a full “what the…” moment for me. I really want to know what is going on with Ren, especially as we skipped from the Grimm attacking at the end of last week to this, so we haven’t seen what happened with him and Nora after their kiss…

S – It did, you have Nora kicking up a storm and Ren just ‘yes sir’, something is definitely going on with our boy and I hope we find out soon.

We got to see the Semblances of Robyn (Christina Vee) and two of her Huntresses (including Fiona Thyme who seems to have survived the attack), what did you think of those powers?

C – I think Robyn’s is my favourite and is going to prove very useful going forward. I’m also thrilled that Fiona (Michele Sontag) survived, and her Semblance is pretty jaw dropping. Could it come in useful against Salem and her forces in future?

S – I sat there with my mouth open! I’m so glad Fiona Lamb survived though, her semblance though WOW!! All of them amazing!

Do you agree with Blake (Arryn Zech) and Yang (Barbara Dunkelman) going against orders to tell Robyn about Amity Tower?

C – Actually yeah, I think I do now. I wasn’t sure about Robyn to begin with, but she is definitely growing on me. I’m glad they were still reserved about it though, not telling her everything yet.

S – yes I do, people need to be told the truth, I think Robyn is one of the good guys and she can help Ironwood achieve his goals. On another note I understand why Ironwood has been keeping things close to his chest, he doesn’t know who he can trust and he does need to be careful but people can help.

So Watts was part of Pietro’s original team were you screaming at the screen as much as I was?

C – yep, as soon as I saw the picture I was yelling “MOVE YOUR THUMB!” at Pietro. Pretty much confirms my theory from last week that Watts hacked Penny as well so she couldn’t see Tyrian.

S – I know I was really hoping someone would go, hang on I know this guy but it wasn’t until after Yang and Weiss left Raven’s camp that Cinder and co turned up.

We got to see the Winter Maidens chamber… was it what you were expecting? Also the interaction between Ironwood and Oscar, your thoughts?

S– I think the chamber kind of remind me of something out of Stargate Atlantis, and the fact the Staff of Knowledge (?) Is what is holding up Atlas is awesome! Ironwood seemed to take on board what Oscar had said, I really want Ozpin to come back though he has more explaining to do! But I have to admit I am looking forward to seeing Ironwood Vs fake Schnee.

C – I don’t know what I was expecting really. It did seem like a Wintery version of the chamber we saw under Haven Academy so perhaps there’s a smilar look to all the chambers. I know what you mean about Atlantis, it did have a sort of Wraith Hive Ship-y vibe to it. The interaction between Ironwood and Oscar was interesting. Oscar was pretty deep and meaningful there, more so than a farm boy his age probably has any right to be. Made me wonder if Ozpin isn’t feeding him a little bit of his own opinions subconciously.

That’s it for our RWBY Vol 7 Episode 7 discussion. Worst Case Scenario is available for FIRST members now on RoosterTeeth.com. It will be available for non-FIRST members on December 21st. You can check out our previous episode discussions, starting with the premiere here.
