Good news for fans of the twisty spy show, Blindspot Season 5 is happening.
The announcement was made by the official twitter account, and echoed by many of the cast, last night.

This is great news as there had been concern after the show’s final few episodes were pulled from NBC’s May Sweeps programming and delayed until the end of May. This comes on the back of a season littered with hiatuses that put some fans on edge. In recent weeks, a #RenewBlindspot hashtag has sprung up, coupled with #FinishTheStory. Fans wanted, and are getting, a fifth and final season.
Show-runner Martin Gero had this to say on twitter
“We’re in this together. All of us.” In 2014 I sketched out a five season plan for the show. I am beyond grateful that we will be able to properly finish telling this giant, sprawling story.

A fifth season means that the show will reach that all important 100 episode milestone, but more than that, it will allow Gero’s originally planned story to play out. We are excited to see how the final few episodes of the fourth season will play out, and even more excited (and a little sad) for Blindspot Season 5.
What Is Blindspot?
The show focuses on a team of FBI agents who came together to investigate a case that began with a heavily tattooed woman with amnesia (played by Jaimie Alexander) emerging from a bag dumped in Times Square. Over the course of the last 4 season, the team have battled corruption both within and outside their ranks, and travelled all over the world, led by clues hidden in the tattoos. The show also stars Sullivan Stapleton, Audrey Esparza, Rob Brown, Ashley Johnson and Ennis Esmer.
Blindspot returns to NBC with the final episodes of season 4 on returns May 24th at 8/7c on NBC. In the UK it’s due back in early June.
